I was taking the piss. See the post above!
Well I mean, at least triple-bageled by Nadal then.

And this is against Fognini on grass. Who is also carrying an injury. Christ.

Well, I suppose losing now is better than being triple bageled by Federer.
I thought he was in Nadal's half? I've not really been paying much attention. This was the first match I've seen in months and it looks like that supposed form he'd found in France has disappeared again. He's gone from best player in the world to a level he's not been at in a decade almost overnight (at least over winter). It's bizarre.

If he does lose this match, it will be 3 of the last 4 grand slams that he has exited after blowing a 2-1 set lead.

This is going to be another one of those painful five-set defeats isn't it? Murray's all over the shop in this set.
8  General Community / Andy Talk / Re: Roland Garros 2017 QF: Andy Murray vs Kei Nishikori on: June 07, 2017, 07:23 pm
I'm sure he will, so I hope it works.  If he does get to the final it'll be either against Nadal or Thiem.

And talking about Thiem, I see Djoko's been accused of tanking in that match because "he looked like he didn't want to be there".  I know he was asked about his loss in his press conference but, although I didn't hear the whole answer, I did hear Djoko saying that he would now consider his situation and decide what to do next.  Is it possible he could be considering retiring from the Tour?  I certainly wouldn't blame if he did because he seems to be going nowhere fast, which must be very difficult to deal with after all these years at the top.
It wouldn't be the first shock retirement in sport in the last year. I think it's unlikely but not out of the question.

Great win. Been a really encouraging couple of weeks. Will be interesting to see how he gets on against Wawrinka.

Have a feeling this set may well be crucial.

Sorry guys only just popped on Sky Sports and didn't know Murray was playing, so a little belated, but..

14  General Community / Andy Talk / Re: Australian Open R4: Andy Murray vs Mischa Zverev on: January 22, 2017, 10:35 am
That is devastating. I knew winning the whole thing would be tough even without Djokovic, but I never thought he'd choke it away against a serve and volleyer journeyman.

That's the lowest ranked player he's lost to in a Slam since I can remember. A decade? Sad to say I don't think he'll ever win the Australian Open now, if he can't even make the last 8 as the number one with his only notable rival already out.

Wawrinka will no doubt win it now just to further rub salt into the wounds. What a shit weekend.

Nishikori vs Federer will be very interesting.

If it is an Andy/Fed QF, I hope Andy deals with his serve better than he did in the Wimbledon 2015 match. I still have nightmares about aces after that match.

Then again, last year's USO QF is another match I'd prefer not to think about. QF is not going to be easy whoever he faces, assuming he gets through Zverev of course.
