Murray finally holds!

While Murray tries to master Simon I'm attempting to master this Bombay Bad Boy pot noodle. Right I'm questioning why the hell I bought it (and then decided to eat it) when I can't stand Indian flavours and hate particularly spicy food. Neutral

Phew!  Didn't miss a thing!  Bloody office is empty!  People off sick/away left right and centre!

Right, time to make a coffee and sit down with the scores I feel then lol
See they're the smart ones.

Amazing first game so far, just keeps on going on. Murray dominating most of the points but Simon defending brilliantly. I can't see him keeping this up all match (or even all set) though.

Great, now I'm trying to work out what Almagro is an anagram of.

Sigh, another set. Flibbertigibbet! >:[
At least I have Big Bang Theory to keep me occupied for another twenty minutes, going to be very bored after that. Frown

Almagro 6-2 up in the breaker... better put back that estimate back an hour I think

Almagro takes breaker 7-2. Going the distance.

Almagro/Fish gone to a 2nd set tie-break now.

Come on Mardy, finish this match off and Andy can finally get on court.

Fair point I guess. I just don't like losing. Frown

Hmmm, don't speak too soon...

Besides, at least this way no-one comes into it late! lol
Haha good point.

Fish much more comfortable against Almagro than I thought he would; set and a break up. Hopefully he sees out the last three service games without too much bother and then Murray can be on court in good time.

Edit: Ah, nooooo Almagro breaks back. 4-4. Dammit Mardy!

Nadal gets broken by Nishikori serving for the match! Not just Andy who has that problem then!
FCUK! Not only is there no tennis on ESPN ATM (skating wtf ) but that's followed by champions league and then no coverage until 2.30 pm this afternoon! Crying or Very sad What have I done to deserve this? Crying or Very sad
Watch it on a stream? :/

Won't be the same but better than no coverage at all.

Almagro/Fish started a few minutes ago.

Think you're being very optimistic with your half 7.

Davis Cup team - Ward, Evans, Fleming & Hutchins.

Ffs. Can't see Evans performing the same heroics again against the higher ranked Belgians which will probably consist of two from Rochus, Malisse or Darcis (not to mention the likes of Goffin and Bemelmans who are ranked above Ward I believe).

Why is Andy not playing? With him we'd have a sure-fire route to the WG play-off, assuming Colin and Ross win their doubles match (which, on paper, they should).

It's an interesting argument but ulmately it would be make the ranking system far worse (in my opinion of course..) Think how hard it would be for players breaking through - they would have to have two good seasons just to catch up!

You would have too many players in the wrong ranking position living off tournaments from over a year ago, others have had great run in the last year but were only playing challengers the year before that, etc.

Not to mention injured players trying to make a comeback - would take two years instead of one just to get on a par with everyone else in terms of tournaments played, then you would probably need another year to try and just get back to where you were. That's three seasons gone in an already tiny career. Would also mean that one poor tournament or poor spell (ala Andy's this time last year) would last two years and seriously daint your ranking.

No, one year is definitely fine. Accurate, fair, more exciting, and relevant to each player's current plight.

End rant (didn't intend it to be one aha). Year-by-year rankings are perfect.
