The BBC originally stated three months (as per her doctor), but have now doubled it to six. Doesn't sound promising for her career.

Shocking incident.

This is an awesome photo from August.

Edit: Took it out of the image tags because it's massive.

Sadly I agree, because I've long felt that the colour of Mo's skin goes against him, and I've heard others say the same too.
I'm not sure if it's so much his colour as where he was born, but indeed you have to wonder if the combination of both holds against him.

As much as I wanted Andy to win, can't believe Mo Farah has never made the top 3. One of Britain's greatest ever athletes. Crazy.

Disappointed for the Kenny's too but alas only three people can get a trophy!

He's only gone and won it again. Very Happy

Bleh, Leicester.

Never thought I'd see Wes Morgan winning a SPOTY award.

I don't see why this programme has to go on for so long. I love sport but this is too much.
It's a celebration of sport. There's a sh*tload of sports and sh*tload of success to cover. It's only 2 and a half hours.

Don't understand people bitching about how long it is. You don't have to watch it all you know.

I think the women's hockey gold was my favourite British story from the Olympics. A true underdog story. What a magical final.

Lutalo Muhammad's silver was the most heart-wrenching moment of the entire event.

Is this happening now? Will the winner be announced today? I'm so confused now. lol
Yes and yes.

They're covering all of the nominees and a few other side awards and then once all of the nominees have been covered they lines will open for 30 minutes before the count the votes and announce the winner just before 9.

How's everyone doing on SPOTY bingo?  I hear Harry Potter should be crossed off. Very Happy

Baby picture, Whitlock party trick and plenty of standing ovations too.

No tears yet but I expect we'll see some later, particularly when they cover all the deaths in 2016.

First award (that I know of) - I'm 'watching' beeb live text Rolling Eyes and trying to work too Very Happy

Deserved, I think. That should be the only award anything Leicester-related wins this year. They've been woeful since August.

Phelps was also awarded the Lifetime Award yesterday. They announce a few awards (unsung hero too) prior to the event.

Not sure if the team award's been done yet. If not, I hope the hockey girls get it. I'm worried they'll give Wales the sympathy award though.

Who voted Jamie Vardy. Very Happy
44  General Community / Andy Talk / Re: Andy's Most Overlooked Achievement? on: December 18, 2016, 06:28 pm
Not an achievement per sé - or particularly overlooked - but I maintain that the 2012 Wimbledon post-match interview was THE turning point in his career. It changed the entire perspective of him from so much of the British public and the support he received 4 weeks later against the same player was massive for him. The Olympic title really was the defining moment of his career and laid the groundworks for all the success that was to follow.

There aren't many times in Federer's career that he's been smashed in a five-set match for less than 8 games.

18yo Jay Clarke won his first Futures title last weekend, and will climb to the low 600s on Monday. The next British prospect to keep an eye on.
