Interesting note from the ATP that this is the first time since the modern rankings began in 1973 that ten different nations have been represented in the top ten.
That's pretty cool! And none of them American.

Thanks TD...It was great to be able to see that again, safe in the knowledge that Andy had prevailed. If Djoko had managed to break Andy again in that last game, it would've been unbearable. I don't know how Andy did it, but I doubt he'd have lasted a third set. I heard Djoko celebrated beating an equally exhausted Kei Nikashori as though he'd just one the final, so the thought of him actually winning it was just too awful to contemplate, so thank God we didn't have to! Phew! replaced removed video** I tried to watch this on Sky's website but they've managed to **** up the audio somehow, makes it unwatchable with sound.

Let us not forget he's done this whilst also winning the Olympics and making the Davis Cup semi finals, which no longer offer ranking points.
If they still did, he'd have over 13,500 points.

Just a couple of other tidbits:
ATP: "With the victory, he became the first player to win the Barclays ATP World Tour Finals title after saving match point since Roger Federer in 2006 in Shanghai."
Sky: "And Murray has broken serve in all 87 singles matches he's played this year."

The exciting thing is, there are still realistic targets to aim for. First Aus Open title? First French Open title? Career grand slam? Calendar year grand slam... 2017 could be even better!
He's only got four tournaments left to complete the collection! Of course those do include two of the four slams.

Given their respective draws, given how tight some of his matches were, given how he broke the longest match record twice in three days, to come out of all that and still beat Djokovic in straight sets with the #1 on the line. I'm lost for words.
What an utterly sublime way to end 2016. You really can't take anything away from him now. He's beaten the rest to do it in such emphatic style. #1 in the world, you better believe it.
