Maybe too tough an opponent.

RBA  - solid as ever. Andy - rusty, erratic and unlucky with some shots.

Their last match (roughly a year ago?) was a humiliation for Andy and very painful to watch. Whatever the outcome today, it can only become better. Let’s not forget: The long-lasting match in R2 has not allowed him the perfect preparation, which puts RBA in a better position. We‘ll see.

37 (?) aces, and you can still lose. Smart tennis, versatile play has prevailed. Brilliant, Andy! I am in awe.

Serving for the match after finally converting. Not guaranteed to be a walk in the park!

We need K to make fewer first serves.

Will he get such a big chance of 0:40 again?

The service carries him through this game, Andy with nearly no convert his BP.

With his service, K certainly has advantages. But I have to admit: he also plays very much above his ranking.

Never have I thought to be able to see anything of this match. But here I am in front of the screen and Andy is still fighting at a ridiculous Australian time.

If Fabio cannot find some magic tomorrow, Kokki will only have to play a few points to win in three sets. So hardly exhausting. And he seems to thrive on homesoil.
Last year Andy also played a five-setter vs. Basil. Then I thought that Taro Daniel would present easier opposition. It became a disaster. Andy should remember it and avoid another early exit.

When the draw came out, many of us may have feared the worst. The thing with the heart and brain. Watching the first two sets, which were nearly immaculate tennis from Andy, I really believed in a win. After the third set, I was sure Andy could only come through if he did it in four sets. Unfortunately, I had to leave the match before the TB, constantly checking the score. But with the fifth set lingering on, I could hardly see Andy winning the final shoot-out in the MTB. How wrong was I!
Andy deserved to win the match: he was the smarter player. Without his big serve, B would only be average.

As long as B serves like hell, it is tough to break him, let alone to win a possible TB.

Andy is not as fast and clinical as in the first two sets. Maybe he should somehow grind out a win in four.

A wobbly start, but he comes through. B seems to have some wind under his wings.
