If Fabio cannot find some magic tomorrow, Kokki will only have to play a few points to win in three sets. So hardly exhausting. And he seems to thrive on homesoil. Last year Andy also played a five-setter vs. Basil. Then I thought that Taro Daniel would present easier opposition. It became a disaster. Andy should remember it and avoid another early exit.

When the draw came out, many of us may have feared the worst. The thing with the heart and brain. Watching the first two sets, which were nearly immaculate tennis from Andy, I really believed in a win. After the third set, I was sure Andy could only come through if he did it in four sets. Unfortunately, I had to leave the match before the TB, constantly checking the score. But with the fifth set lingering on, I could hardly see Andy winning the final shoot-out in the MTB. How wrong was I! Andy deserved to win the match: he was the smarter player. Without his big serve, B would only be average.
