^ Now we must wait for the draw at Midday! Great news as I just want him to start even if he finds it a struggle. The draw could be important. He could do with a first round opponent who does not play a game that causes Andy too much physical grief.
First round opponent is Kyrgios. The winner of that plays the winner of Edmund vs Harrison.

Good news. This is where being patient really starts - for us. No moaning if he loses early.
Does anyone really see any other scenario than him losing? I'm not being sarcastic here, I'm being genuine. I love Andy, and I'm beyond thrilled he feels up to playing, but he's really not in winning shape or back to his best yet, is he? Sure, it'll probably suck to see him lose, but the way I see it, the win for us- and for him- is him being back playing. To get to see him walk back out onto court finally (and a grass court at that)... god, what a feeling.

I'm well thanks. It is very disappointing that we won't get a pic of Andy getting his knighthood because that would have been wonderful to see. If it's any consolation though you can see a photo of Jamie getting his CBE from the Queen on his thread. Hopefully Andy will start playing again soon and that you'll drop by more often. Ah, that's great to hear Aileen! Yes, I must admit I'm very disappointed by that (particularly as a knighthood is the pinnacle of the honours, so there won't be another one we can look forward to seeing him receive at some point I did see the pictures of Jamie at the time, and I was happy for him, but much as I like Jamie I'm afraid it simply wasn't the same for me!). In the back of my mind I think the fact that I thought we always had those pictures to look forward to at some point was cheering me up over the long absence of almost anything Andy-related! What a shame they couldn't just make a small exception for him... (though I understand why they can't- every knighthood being given is for something special after all! Though then again... the biased part of me says "but it's Andy!') Poor Kim must have been very disappointed too- I remember Andy saying how much she loves anything to do with the royals, and how thrilled and excited she was to get to go with him to get his OBE. Here's to hoping for some Andy action too- and thank you so much to you and moonglow for the lovely welcome back!

Hello dani! Definitely long time no chat! As for Andy's knighthood, I was a bit puzzled myself so checked it out and found that attending an investiture (yes that is what they're called) isn't obligatory for any honour and that in fact the recipient can use it right from the moment they're officially awarded it by letter. I suspect Andy might have gone to one earlier had it not been for injury and Kim's pregnancy, but he won't have to bother now anyway because recipients can only attend an investiture within a year of the award being made. Hope that clarifies things for you and anyone else who might be wondering the same. It has been a while! I've popped in from time to time, and of course still as big an Andy fan as ever Hope you're well Aileen! Ohh, I didn't realise you could only do the ceremony within a certain time frame! Darn, that means no pictures to look forward to. Man, I'm really disappointed by that! But still, great to know, thanks so much for explaining that

Hello all! Long time no chat Just thought I'd pop back in and ask- anyone any idea when Andy's formal investiture (I may not be using the right term there ) will be? He accepted the knighthood a long time ago now, but there's been no mention of the ceremony since and they've held lots of them. I totally understood with the injury and the baby coming that it might not have been the right time then, but has anyone heard anything about future plans?

Another thing that struck me as odd at the time was his announcement at Andy Live about going to spend Christmas in Brisbane with his family, because as far as I know Kim has never gone to Australia, so why would she want to go there now, particularly with such a young baby and a toddler to look after? Maybe the excitement of the occasion plus having only become a father for the second time just a few days before the event (if reports at the time were to be believed) got too much for him!
Aileen, how could you forget Kim being in Australia?!
Oh, that jumper was brilliant. Bless Kim and her ability to keep a sense of humour about all the press madness that surrounds Andy's career- it must have done an awful lot over the years to help him keep a good perspective on things. But anyway, they've always done it both ways. Kim's been to Australia lots of years- she was even there last year, so presumably they took little Sophia, although I guess I can see where Aileen is coming from- taking one almost one-year-old is probably quite different than taking said little girl AND a new baby of just a few months. There's also been quite a few years she hasn't made the journey though, and supported him from home instead. They've probably just decided on a year-to-year basis based on what suits them that year, and I suppose it'll be more of the same now that they're having to get used to balancing their travels with young kids. It might take a bit of trial and error, but they'll go with what feels right for them, and figure out which tournaments work for the babies to travel to and which not.

Feck - not the best time of year for it! Cosy up with a hot water bottle, if you have one! I'm old School, as you can tell. Hope it gets sorted soon. Good to hear you're busy. I'm fine, ta. Hope you're keeping well too. x Glad to hear things are good! Oh, I'm right there with you Elly- I have not one, not two, but THREE hot water bottles Thankfully there's someone coming to fix it in the next couple of days. I'll just bundle up very warm and complain a lot about it until then x

How are you getting on, chuck? Eh, more or less the same as last time we chatted to be honest Elly! Bit busier, so haven't been on here much... and much, much colder, seeing as our heating has randomly gone on strike the last couple of days How about you? Hope you're keeping well!
