That's the tournament done for me then. I couldn't give a f*ck who wins or loses now... well, that's just how I'm feeling right now, of course.  We still have Jo, Jamie and Heather to cheer on so I'll try and pull myself together and enjoy what is left.

Sorry db, I hate the fighting that goes on here too, and have no desire to be a part of it. But I actually felt quite hurt by being told to "show grace". I wasn't saying anything bad about Sam at all, so I didn't think it was deserved.

All judgement goes out the window when emotions are running high.  Perhaps they perceived you as showing no grace but their perception was off.  Words can and do cause hurt on here so walk away for an hour and then come back.    :hugs:

It must be tough to be an introvert who is watched by millions.  He's had many years to get pretty good at dealing with it all but if that side of it disappeared tomorrow I'm sure he'd be okay with it.  

I keep forgetting he's not actually officially knighted yet.  Actually, I forget half the time he's a Sir now!

I didn't mean anyone on this forum as fawning if they like him but I have to say I think the media in general are guilty. e.g. asking Asarenka if she was inspired by him to combine parenting and tennis.     That is just crass.     I think he is more circumspect now in his comments but it's too late for me.    I made up my mind about him many years ago.      However there is no reason why we all have to like (or dislike) the same person.

Just wanted to comment here on Marcus Willis and Jay Clake's stunning victory over Herbert and Mahut.  Did not see that one coming.  Sometimes it's the outside courts that give us the biggest thrillers.  The atmosphere from the crowd was electric.  Well done boys!
