Thanks for this but just to make sure that I'm clear in understanding this, are you saying for instance, that you play 18 tournies, and you've got points from them but then you play another 8 tournies, and the points you get from them are better than 8 tournies that you've already played, so you discount those points and add the new points.

Yep.  Wink

A little wish. Murray to meet his (and my) idol Agassi in a competitive match before he retires. Could happen in LA or at US open. *crosses fingers*

Does Murray need to reach 32 to get seeded for US? Or will he have to rely on wildcard? Will 32 in the world be enough to give him entry to MAster's events? Bjorkman won today remeber so he's lost a place already.  RE Challengers from last year will automatic entry to Masters series's cancel this out or will he need to do well in other tournaments to make up for this. Did he compete in Flushing Meadows last year?

He needs to be 32 for seeding, yes. Although some people will withdraw due to injuries etc, so 34 or something may be enough. He doesn't need wildcards at the mo, his current ranking gives him direct entry to all the upcoming masters events. Bjorkman has indeed overtaken him so he will be at 36 come Monday. He qualified for US Open last year and lost in the second round to Clement I think. There are three masters events that he will play this year that he did not play last year (toronto, madrid and paris). Toronto is before the US open so playing that will force one of his countable tournaments off his ranking. He also has to defend Aptos, Binghampton and Cincy. The good thing is that Andy will be seeded at Newport, Indy and Washington I think, so he will have a good chance to go far at those tournies. Anyway it's best to just see how it goes week by week.

I'm afraid I don't believe he will get a seeding at RG or Wimbers or even the US Open (please don't hate me!). Clay is proving difficult for Andy, and whilst he is certainly showing signs of improvement, I don't think he will go far at Rome,  Hamburg or RG. Next year is a different story though. I think he'll be ranked around 20 by this time in 2007. Smile

How bizzare, atptennis does not show that result, only another match where Andy beat Marcel

Yeah the atp site doesn't show qualifying matches, but does show results from Futures events...

Did y'all see that this guy beat Andy in May last year. Just before Queens. In the first qualifying round for the Ettlingen challenger! Andy was seeded eighth in the qualifying.
