It seems that those predictions of Dolgopolov and Tomic were based too much on their results at Brisbane at the start of the year.

Well James didn't do any worse against Amritraj than Yuichi Sugita (ranked 117) did yesterday. Sugita also lost in 3 sets.

So a decent few days for James considering he's hardly played since Wimbledon.

Dom Inglot and partner beat the top seeds (Lindstedt/Zimonjic) in the doubles in Doha 6-2, 6-2. 

If Andy is going to play then the tie is really needing to be on clay. Can't see him playing otherwise. So it's going to involve building a temporary clay court into one of the indoor arenas such as Braehead, especially as it will probably rain if it's played outdoors.

I'll be surprised if it's not on iPlayer at some point afterwards.

I can certainly understand him wanting to spend some of Christmas at home for the first time in four years but would leaving Miami a few days earlier have disrupted his training that much?  I'd have thought a few days rest would be more valuable in the circumstances.  However we weren't there so we don't know what might have been going on between him and Lendl.

I think that Andy might have started his preseason training camp a week or so earlier this year compared to previous years so he has finished it a week earlier.

Two weeks ago Hewitt had just a single ranking point. Now, he's picked up 22 ranking points in successive tournaments.

For me the LTA look to be a bit inconsistant with the awarding of the Team Aegon contract. Doesn't seem to take into account time missed through illness or injury or whether or not the player missed a few years due to studying at US college/uni.
