Great report Nigel - I think Andy wants it more and will put up a fight but he is tired and unless he comes on and wins the first two sets he is going to run out of steam imo.  Fingers crossed he can do it as he wants it so badly.

Hilarious . . .
Maybe I should applaud all of Andy's unforced errors then . . .

Maybe you should do as all a favour and just sod off.

And I'm calling it as I see it as well, so I guess we'll have to agree to disagree.
Agree Aileen, in my opinion ST Essex only applauds Andy when he is winning so thank you for that

Thank you, it came from the heart....

I know that's what made it so special.

I started following Andy a long time ago, he was a scruffy looking kid and all my friends from the UK said he was a loser, never be as good as Timmy (Henman).  He was foul mouthed on the court, constantly yelling at his box, had an off and on first serve and a terrible second serve.  But in his interviews I could see someone I liked.  He had this attitude that when he lost he had to work harder.  But I am so proud that I stuck with him and had the privilege of watching him grow into the legend that he is today.  I think of all the nerves he had to get through, all the pressures  of the expectations put upon him.  I'm not sure I could have gotten through that kind of pressure, most people I believe would have hung up the racquet and decided to do something else with my life.  I felt for him as he tried his best to win a grand slam time and time again, and finally he wins the US Open.  And then the Olympics gold and silver, keeping Federer from winning the gold, and the Davis cup winning for Britain etc.  I am so proud of him, and yes he has his hiccups, losing a game he should have won, but coming back and winning in true form.  I still see that angry Andy muttering and being unhappy with his box, but not as often.  He has grown into a most wonderful player, one who will go down in the history of world tennis as being one of the greats.  Here's to him continuing down the road as one of the greatest.

Lovely post - totally agree with every word you say  hug

I know he has, and I really miss that now.  In fact I miss quite a few of the members who were around when I first joined, although there are others I was glad to see the back of!

Same here.  There are still a few I keep hoping will disappear as I find their attitude sucks but I doubt they will.  Glad you are still here though, so don't you stop posting hug

Is Sir P that desperate?  lol
Not really Aileen but he's got a good sense of humour Very Happy   He used to post on here a lot but isn't around as much (like a lot of us!)

Heading along to this tonight - gutted about Monfils dropping out.

I'll be a youthful, manly drop in a cacophonous ocean of Murray-obsessed middle-aged women.

The good news is you might be lucky enough to pull a "cougar"

I was talking about Stan's kit, not Dan's!

Now we have another tie-break.  CMON DAN!

Sorry Aileen,my brain is scrambled as it is way past by bed time.

Great to see Leon there urging Dan on.  Shame about the colour of Stan's kit though! yuk
Hi Aileen, don't care about his kit, just desperate for him to win, he really is going toe to toe with Wawrincka

I thought we weren't allowed name-calling on here.  Why can't we disagree without having a go?  It's so unnecessary!
Shame you weren't so vigilant when ST Essex was making derogatory remarks about Andy.  I won't be making any more "unnecessary" remarks to upset you anymore as I'm out of here.   I've been a member for a number of years but am so fed up with trolls getting away with  saying all sorts of remarks about Andy without any action being taken yet when I make one remark I'm taken to task.
Enjoy a Sengamac free zone I've had it.
28  General Community / Andy Talk / Re: Australian Open 2016 Final: Andy Murray vs Novak Djokovic on: February 01, 2016, 10:54 pm
lmao Well said Senga!
Deluded waffle.
Thank goodness Andy is the only one who has to judge how much Amelie is helping him, it is certainly not up to anyone on here to judge or set a time limit.

Or for that matter to tell him how to play.
We need to factor all that happened on and off the court in Melbourne, and to remember where Andy wanted to be at home with Kim. I for one think he did a remarkable job against Milos. The concentration levels he had to sustain throughout the match were very high no wonder he didn't come out to Djokovic match sharp, but no one can deny that he did play some wonderful tennis in the 3rd and 4th sets, but also made errors and this can happen, 100 errors from Djokovic!!

Thanks guys - this idiot troll definitately needs put in his place - self important ass****

Going forward, Abdy needs a clear game plan against Novak, and needs the confidence to carry it out. A few reports today make reference to this. One thing is for sure - on,y Andy can end the Novak dominance. Fed and Rafa are declining and everybody else is pretty much miles behind. In terms of Novak becoming the greatest of all time, I'd personally hate that to happen, as it would flatter him immensely.
I think we should give Amelie until the end of Wimbledon. By that time, Andy needs to have beaten Novak (if they meet, which is likely). I'd want to see evidence of greater mental strength and resolve at the key moments, and a clear and purposeful game plan. I don't want Amelie to fail, but there needs to be a closing of the gap between Andy and Novak. Skills wise, it's minimal. In fact, in some areas, Andy is better.
I'm fed up with these losses, because it's not a reflection of their respective abilities. If this was a Tim Henman site, then we would accept that Tim tried his best, but deep down we always knew he wasn't a world contender. Andy is.

Get over yourself  - who the hell do you think you are?    If you are such an expert why aren't you playing tennis for GB?  Get lost.

Your gut can be right, but not always.  If you want to see how Andy feels look at Murray pictures, there is an absolutely lovely one of him arriving home - really lifts you.
