I didn't notice that but maybe it was just a sudden tweak and something his physio can easily sort out.

What utter b****y nonsense!!  If Andy withdraws it'll be because he absolutely has to, not because he wants to - not that I expect such suspicious-minded people as you are to believe that!

Well said Aileen

Aileen, it's nice that you try to see the best in people. I do too, but I'm also a realist. Are you forgetting about Fed's very suspicious withdrawal last year?

Andy isn't Fed

I make positive comments when they are deserved. I did yesterday. Apart from one game, there was nothing positive about today's match. Is he getting closer to challenging Novak? No. I'm not 100% efficient at what I do, nobody is. But I am usually effective at what I do. Andy, apart from Montreal, has been totally ineffective against Novak. No clear idea of how to beat him. No visible game plan. And he hasn't beaten Fed for nearly 3 years, which was another matchup that was competitive. I'm not the only one saying negative things on here. On the face of it, it's been a good year. But if he runs into Fed or Novak, he's losing. And there is little evidence that it will change any time soon. I hope I'm wrong.

Well I think Andy being #2 is being a bit more than usually effective.

Novak didn't do anything special today. Just waited for Andy's errors.

Don't know why you come on here - all you seem to do is make negative comments about Andy, his game and the Davis Cup.    Andy is a mere mortal and can't win all of his matches all of the time.  I take it you are 100% efficient at everything you do 100% of the time.

Itotally agree with you Aileen. FED played so well against Andy there was nothing he could do.Okay when it mattered his serve faultered so would yours when you had game after game 40 love game. NOLE did not have that why you knows Fed did not play like he did with Andy also in the 4 th set with Nole he was so tired.I cannot see Fed getting another grand salem otherplayers are coming up and he will be beaten. At wimbledon he did have an easy draw compared with theothers till he meet Andy and he produced the ggods ace serves which he did not do with nole.

I think it's time that this particular ghost was laid to rest on here, especially as we now know that Lendl wasn't quite the perfect coach some had hyped him up to be.  We've seen significant improvements in Andy's game since Amelie came on board, which was at a critical time in his career, and now there's Jonas as well, so I don't see where the suggestion that Andy find another coach sometime next year comes in.  Jonas admittedly is still a bit of an unknown factor but let's give him a chance to see what he can do before judging him, bearing in mind that no coach in the world can perform miracles overnight - not even Lendl - and also that changes can't all come at once but rather have to be worked on individually over a period of time.

Well said Aileen if all those "armchair" critics could play tennis as well as they talk GB would have a glut of top tennis players.

Agreed. To win another slam he'll either need someone to knock Djokovic out early, or at least a little bit of luck to fall his way with scheduling.

Bloody hell you two are a real bundle of laughs and positivity

I've no doubt he will be sengamac.  Bring it on!

I hope he plays Washington as well before the Rogers Cup.

Me too Aileen, once he gets over the disappointment it's going to be onwards and upwards hug

Well, we'll just have to wait and see until the next match on the green stuff between Andy and Nole won't we.    I still think Andy has the edge against Nole at Wimbledon despite him losing to Fed this year.
57  General Community / Andy Talk / Re: News Articles on: July 12, 2015, 08:35 pm
Well we've heard this 'tough few days' stuff before, but I think it's time that Andy got to grips with the fact that even when playing your very best, you can still lose against someone who's playing even better, and on this occasion Fed's form was red hot.  Also, and I could be wrong, I don't think this is the first time the Davis Cup has helped him out of a situation like this.
If it's his cousin he doesn't look too happy about it, and if it was her giving him a hug to try to cheer him up then, from the stony expression on his face, it obviously didn't work.  I know what it's like to feel low, but some reaction wouldn't have gone amiss.

He's a sensitive soul is our Andy - it'll take more than a hug to cheer him up as he feels he's let his fans down by losing to an on fire Fed.    Needs his little man and Maggie May to lick him better, plus his Davis Cup team mates  Watch out whoever plays him in the Davis Cup he's going to be on fire. cmon yeah

Agreed.  Plus Andy is likely to be underdog against Nole for the forseeable future, but he's been underdog for the last 5 years and still won a lot of matches off him.  He got the belief back in the French.  He'll follow through soon, you watch.

Good post and I agree with every word.   Some "fans" on here have been writing Andy off for years so nothing has changed really but like you I believe his best has yet to come hug

Absolutely mouth watering draw.  Would there be any better way to win this?  Bring it on!

Absolutely agree cmon yeah

Yeah... there may be some truth in that reasoning ..however... Andy has been through some trauma/hardship in his life ...does he act like a twat to his opponents aged 28yrs old.... NOPE! ...Djokerdick? Yup!

 Good posting!
