Good posting as usual Jan, and one I totally agree with.

Also my biggest concern was that, if Andy got any further in this tournament, he might pick up an injury, which is what happens when muscles and joints get tired, and end up having to pull out of the O2, and that really would have been tragic after all the hard work he's put in to get there.  Not, of course, that the pathetic negative persons on here will see it that way, but I doubt Andy would care anyway!

Good point. Especially as his next opponent tomorrow could again have been Ferrer, potentially another at least two-hour match. Might just have been that bit too much. Guess he felt physically and mentally tired today after the pressure came off yesterday after his goal was achieved that he worked so hard for in the last six weeks.

I'm so so proud of you Andy! Somehow it felt like it was your turn after all. Still it's so tough to actually do it. You did us all so proud! Congrats man, enjoy it! I've never been so delighted for someone. You deserve it!!!! clap yay

Love the writing captions - someone's birthday, as it was happy birthday but couldn't read the name.

It's Kim's birthday today. She turns 25.

Come on, he came 2nd best out of 128 players! Sure there's disappointment now but let's all be positive for what he's done. He's played great matches against the No. 5 and 6 in the world and lost to player who would have been hard to beat for anyone today. Well done, Andy! Thanks for a great tournament! Don't listen to all those who try to get you down. You did a great job - be proud of it!  clap

It's a shame we're living in a world where seemingly everything but 1st place is worth nothing. Sure he'll be disappointed right now, more than everyone else probably, but - he won incredible matches especially against Ferrer and Tsonga and just didn't have it in him today to take that last step and also lost to one of the best players ever to play the game. So Andy, take heart, you did so well and we're all very proud of you!

Oh well he has played a great two weeks.  clap  If he can keep this up and bring it to the court a bit more often in best of 3 matches as well he will be fine.. and some day he'll take the final step. Proud of you Andy!  hug

A very mature performance, standing tall when it mattered most. Ferrer is so tough to beat, you can't allow to let your concentration slip for a minute. So happy he did it in 4 sets as well as I guess a 5th set would have been really gruelling...
Well done Andy! So proud of you!!  yay clap

He's obviously not interested anymore, if he was he would long since have changed some things. I guess we'll have to accept that, sad though it is...
