In the meantime, I would urge ye all to stay calm. He has always done well at Wimbledon. Even before he hit puberty, he reached R32.
Perhaps this defeat will extinguish expectations and mean he will fly under the radar going into the tournament.
That would be cool if he were playing like a cruise missile. But he seems to be without navigational support, and has his radar turned off banging the stewardess in back of the plane.

What Andy says:
http://www1.skysports.com/news/12040/7811157/
"It's panic stations now. I've just got no chance to be ready for Wimbledon. It's going to be impossible, I think," the world number four said sarcastically.
Also the comments from Mahut and Tsonga.
When you look at the number of players who pulled out of this tournament, and the results so far, I can't help thinking the turnaround from clay to grass is just too quick. As a fan I'd have liked another week off to recover....and it seems I've got it, as far as the Murraycoaster is concerned anyway!

Earlier Eurosport showed Andy back at queen's practicing with Edmund and Lendl had given Edmund instructions on where to hit the ball to so Andy could practice specific shots.

Can Lendl do that with future opponents too?

I would rather see Andy go into Wimbledon with less expectation heaped on him, go in under the radar and then make his mark when people are not expecting him to.
All these people writing him off on the basis of a few bad results, but lets look at the facts, he has been suffering with a back injury, having a back problem is bad enough in every day life let alone when you have to play tennis for a living. He obviously has the benefit of the best medical and physical advice and will be taking all that on board to try and keep himself fit.
It’s ludicrous to suggest that Lendl is pushing his game backwards, now a few months ago (pre Lendl) everyone and their dog in the media was saying he can’t win a major with the style of play that he has, he needs to be more aggressive, he needs to sort his head out etc etc etc. So what does he do, hire Ivan Lendl, proven GS winner with a steel mentality, they have been together for 6 months – it is obvious that the changes he is making are going to take time before he is comfortable with them, he needs to establish the correct balance between defence and aggressive play. You don’t suddenly become a poor player overnight. And then after a defeat you come on here and someone is suggesting that Andy should revert to his old style of play !!!
If you think of it in Andy’s terms, he has won 250,s, 500,s and Masters Titles, there is only one thing that is eluding him and that is a GS – no wonder he is putting everything into this.
Sure, some more matches at Queens might have been good for him – but who are we to say, his team will have a contingency plan to get him ready in time for Wimbledon, but I for one would be pleased to see him enter quietly into Wimbledon and then exceed expectations.
If I wanted to watch a guaranteed winner then I would be a Djoko or Nadal fan but I don’t like their brutal bashing style of play – Andy has grace, talent by the bucketload and is an individual Sure he is a bit of a tortured genius but that is what appeals to me. Yep it is disappointing when he loses but then you have to exercise a bit of perspective and just take the rough with the smooth.
We are all Murray fans for a reason – we like him, his game style, his talent etc. that has not disappeared, he is trying to re-invent himself to make him competitive and prove what we all want to see and that is him lifting a GS title.
Loved his spiky attitude with the media yesterday, he needs to show more of that because whatever he says they will continue to rip him apart anyway, so he may as well give them something to report on !!!
The only thing that slightly disappoints me is that they are trying to mould Andy into a “Raf-esqu” always PC etc. he is much better when he shows his edginess. I was listening to a phone in on Radio Scotland last week about the lack of support from Scottish people for the England football team and it was mentioned that Andy had stated that he would be supporting England in the Euros – now I am pretty sure that he himself would not be saying that but rather his PR company have instructed him to say this – WHY he is Scottish and has no loyalty towards the England footy team just the same as Tim Henman would have had no loyalty to the Scotland footy team????? The amount of Scottish callers that then called in saying they would no longer support Andy because of this was just weird. The media is little by little ruining this young man – if they continue to dissect his life bit by bit, continually have a go at him etc. he is going to up and leave and who could blame him. He really is damned if he does and damned if he doesn’t!!!!!!
I would just love to see him come into Wimbledon so far under the radar and then shove it right up all his doubters !!!!
I will definitely continue to purchase my season ticket on the Murray Coaster in the hope that I can see that day !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
In Andy we have to trust………….

Been meaning to say - how is it that Murray Magic manages to say exactly what I am thinking and trying to say, but manages to express it so much better than me...!!! I always enjoy your posts. I agree with everything you say, particularly about supporting a human, rather than a robot.
