My groin is not too good. The inflammation in my hip bone is not too bad but I tried practising yesterday and didn't feel good at all.I'll have to see what it's like on Wednesday - if it's not good, there is a good chance I won't be able to play.
I’m not 100 per cent fit, I don’t know if I will be for the weekend and unless I am, I won’t play. When I don’t give 100 per cent I feel pretty bad about myself and I did that last year in Glasgow. I won’t make that mistake again.Last year I shouldn’t really have played in the Davis Cup. I didn’t make my own decision.I was kind of doing what I thought was best for the team but ended up not really helping out. Without me the team is still very good so it is more about making sure I am in good shape and not putting my health at risk. You look at other players like [Rafael] Nadal, who is out injured, [Roger] Federer, who misses a few ties, Tim [Henman], who stopped for a couple of years. It is difficult to fit everything in.I enjoy playing for my country but if I am not fit enough to do it then I don’t want to do my country a disservice by having to retire in a match or not being able to give 100 per cent.
