Andy Murray's coach Mark Petchey has warned the 18-year-old could suffer from a lack of domestic rivals as he aims to consolidate his surge up the world rankings.

Murray has already shown signs of struggling with the expectation as the British sport's next big thing with an angry press conference after his Australian Open defeat to Juan Ignacio Chela.

And as long as nobody else is about to share that burden, Petchey insists it would be unrealistic for Murray to continue his meteoric ascent into his first full season on the ATP Tour.

Mark Petchey said:

I wouldn't be surprised if this year is a tough one for Andy. Last year was a fantastic time and some people look at it and think it's going to continue. But if you look at everyone's career, they have all had periods where things have stalled for a while.

The reality of the situation is when Tim and Greg are gone Andy is going to be only one. That is going to be a burden for him to carry around, which won't be easy

Judy Murray is now doing some work with Gosling Tennis centre in Hertfordshire. Lets hope she can weave her magic on some English kids - Gosling has some kids doing full time courses and tennis training.
