Same here Fiverings, and like you I've known people who have gone through it, and a positive attitude definitely helps. Also as @deb says radiotherapy is not as unpleasant as it once was. My cousin's husband had it five years ago when he was diagnosed with lung cancer and his experience was the same as deb's.
Not bizarre at all because how you feel seems a perfectly normal reaction to me. And if you feel like having a good moan at any time, then just let it out on here because MW has to be one of the most supportive places around, something I've found out myself.
Thanks. Aileen. I'm just feeling a little beaten up. It's not good when things feel out of your own control. My cancer is very intimate, so it's a double whammy. Not nice and just makes you feel so vulnerable.

I know Elly, but you will get a lot of support, and I would strongly recommend that you get in touch with Maggie's Centre in Aberdeen -

I first one was opened at the Western General in Edinburgh and I've heard nothing but praise for it.

Yeah - I think it makes sense to get some support. But - you always just think - nah - this is just temporary and will pass because it can't happen to me! Nuts….

Gosh - you guys are an inspiration. It's scary ****, but really helps to know others have weathered the storm. I'm guessing I'm pretty lucky when push comes to shove. You know what it's like - just getting your head around it takes a bit of time. Thanks very much for the the support.
Your very welcome Elly , I think getting your head around it and the fear is the hardest part, but it does get better promise

I'm so scared, Deb - I can't deny it. Right now, my only solace is sleep. Can't get food down my throat and just filled with anxiety… horrible…

Not nuts, just normal. Unpleasant things always happen to other people, never yourself - and I wasn't suggesting you contact it right away, just maybe once you've had the chance to get your head round it all.

Let's move on.
I feel fecking sick of the rain in my neck of the woods. Off for weeks and have had around two nice sunny days to sit out. So - bought in some popcorn to enjoy while watching a movie. Lost half a filling in the process. I blame the weather!

Elly - it's been the same in Edinburgh. We haven't had a lot of rain just endlessly dull, very cool windy days. In fact you get to the stage where you almost forget what the sun looks like! It has been sunny and warm today though for a change.
Shame about the tooth, especially as you'd just bought yourself a treat.

God bless, Deb. Thanks so much. It's just horrible times, and just seems surreal. It really helps to hear from others who have gone through it. Aileen has pointed out it might be helpful to get in touch with others - and I am so grateful for everyone's advice and input. Today was my realisation that I'm in this, and i'm still coming to terms with it. I'm so tired, and will be better after a good night's sleep.

I think Aileen is right, it helps to talk to people who know how you feel . But the best thing is sleep
night Elly don't worry, you will get through this x
