WTF, a red patch has suddenly appeared on my stomach and it stings! This sort of thing just doesn't happen to me.

You've been bitten by something I expect. This lovely warm weather has brought out a few biting insects - it always happens. Don't expect it's anything to worry about. You shouldn't roll around naked on the ground - or doze off in the sun - never know what might get bitten next!!

Oooo... be careful it isn't shingles.  Have you felt run down lately?   Think

It might be ringworm.

Mark, you need to get to a doctor - ASAP!  nervous

Thank you for concern everyone but the pain has now gone so I assume it's getting better whatever it is.

I haven't got aids. I was in my office all day so it's probably unlikely I've got bitten. I'm pretty sure I don't have ringworm. I generally lead a stress free life so shingles is unlikely - the biggest stress event this month has been finding a new pair of trousers that fit.

If anything it's due to tireness - I've recently got into playing regular tennis so my 6 hours of sleep is not cutting it anymore.

Seriously, Mark, if it gets worse then go to your Doc.  I had shingles and it doesn't really manifest in any other way than causing a redness, and it stings, like having needles stuck in you.  It comes and it goes - but don't leave it if it re-occurs?

A few weeks ago I had loads of red blotches all over my belly and I had no idea what it was because I didn't feel ill and it didn't bother me except for three which were slightly itchy (there was about ... 60ish in total I think) and the doc said it was a fungal infection (ie ringworm) and I had to use some cream to get rid of it.

This didn't itch, it was an intermittent sting.... a bit like needles, as ellyb said.

But generally don't get ill so I'd be surprised if it was something like shingles.
