Can writers afford to be moody? Or is it just a flow thing?

I think it's a 'wannabe'
On Jack Reacher No 5. It doesn't challenge the brain, but fab for a one handed girl with boredom!

King is a genius. I mean who thinks of the idea of a murdering clown that appears every 27 years, or a rabid St Bernard, or even a cemetery for cats and dogs that is used to revive loved ones from the dead. Not to mention his latest novel about what would have happened if JFK had lived.

I love thrillers as well. I guess I'm only thrilled to a certain level, and I'm a scary cat when it comes to Stephen King.

I've never been scared by his novels, not even IT scared me. He's a gold ball though in literature.

I have started the beginning again...
CHAPTER ONE-
The thick smog laid a heavy grasp on the small town in Hampshire, England. All that was in view was the burning streetlights that coated the roads with at least a tinge of light for drivers. One of those drivers was an elderly man that lived in the adjoining town.
He was a diminutive pale man with heavily bloodshot eyes and a coat that had infinite splatters of blood pasted around it. His identity was a mystery as he rarely came into contact with fellow townsfolk, one of the ‘insignificant outsiders’ the local council would spill their guts on the table about. His hair was in an unwashed state and the grease from his body was close to dripping from his fingernails. His eyes were holes of bleakness, as if he was the shell of a dead man resurrected again. One foreign knowing that the council did not speak of, as they simply was not aware of, was that his day’s were now limited.
The dated Ford Fiesta which had had more than several coats of painting on in its lifetime (now being the colour red) was driving at a mix between a fast and steady pace as it rammed its way out of the lingering fog.

A joker, yes but moody, no.
I guess I was more thinking about my own self but I should have congratulated you first for taking a shot at writing. One of my friends is a writer and has written 3 books so far, but can't find a publisher for the life of her to publish it. And she's done a worldwide search as for as the publishing go.
I am too moody to write though I really like the idea of it and also, my English isn’t perfect and I don’t have a very strong vocabulary. But I am very imaginative and that’s all I’ve got.

I absolutely love thrillers and horrors are fine too as long as the writer is always 1 step of ahead of us and keeps us guessing the whole time.

I like it all when the good guy wins - I tend to gloss over the violent stuff.

That's no way to read a thriller.
