I read a Stephen King co-write with an author whose name escapes me (sorry !). I think it was called 'Black House' ( I'm really impressive on my facts eh ?) Anyway, the plot involved kids going missing, and it really freaked me out, at least until I got well into the book. Does anyone know the book I'm talking about ?
Favourite author : Kurt Vonnegut - the world is a poorer place without him.
I'd like to mention Ian (M) Banks, who just yesterday announced he had terminal cancer and he is unlikely to survive any longer than a year. I'm deeply saddened by this news. I have enjoyed his writing but, having heard him on TV and radio, I also think he sounds like a great bloke. My thoughts are with him.

Oh- I didn't know Iain Banks had cancer. Had the privilege of hearing him lecture - great guy. The Bridge was the book I studied - not within the Iain M Banks mode.

'The Bridge' was apparently based on Alasdair Gray's 'Lanark' Was all a bit weird, but very interesting.

I believe he spoke of his condition on his website - it was reported on BBC 5 live yesterday. I'm sure that lecture would have been really interesting - and entertaining - he's a fine speaker.
