I believe he spoke of his condition on his website - it was reported on BBC 5 live yesterday.  I'm sure that lecture would have been really interesting - and entertaining - he's a fine speaker.
Just a really down to earth guy, with a great sense of humour. I'm really sorry to hear he is ill.

I'd like to mention Ian (M) Banks, who just yesterday announced he had terminal cancer and he is unlikely to survive any longer than a year.  I'm deeply saddened by this news. I have enjoyed his writing but, having heard him on TV and radio, I also think he sounds like a great bloke.  My thoughts are with him.

Hi sid, sorry I didn't get to you sooner. 'Black House' is actually the second novel of a two parter by King and Straub. The first part is called 'The Talisman' and despite me having not read it yet, I've heard it's a cracking read.
