John Humphrys is getting flak for a radio 4 interview with Jo Konta
. What did he do?

Well he's a particularly awful person, with a gargantuan ego, so not surprised to hear he was a prick to Jo.
Yeh well don't like his interview style, and so don't tend to listen to him now.
I'm all for tough questioning of politicians, which people like Andrew Neil do well, but Humphrys grates and I even feel myself siding slightly with some hapless Tory minister (or whoever is on!)

Didn't hear it but some say he was aggressive, saying she 'crashed' out of Wimbledon and was a bit ethnic nationalist sounding in other questions.
Perhaps it wasn't that bad and is being hyped - I don't know.

You're neither. Full objectivity is beyond us all.
Oooof, do hope you have told boogers this, he was very scathing when I suggested bias was inevitable
Humphreys went on and on about Konta's supposed "mental" issues around winning and about her being really an Australian.

. Doesn't really sound like Humphreys, I must say. Why that should bother her anyway - she has obviously dealt with the mental issues extremely well, I'm sure she's as proud of her ethnicity and mother country as her adopted homeland.

It didn't bother her at all. She was very calm and collected. He was trying to be "controversial" and prod her.

. Yeh, I've since listened to the clip and she manages to keep the annoyance well under control as she corrects his duff briefing on her junior ranking and explains her qualification to play for Britain. All round, it was a very peculiar item, and not at all sure what the point of it was.

I can well imagine that Jo doesn't suffer fools gladly!

That 2nd set tiebreak loss was a bit unfortunate as Daveed had MP at 7-6, but he managed to shake off the rust and take the 3rd 6-2. Great to see him back playing again though, so thankfully no really serious damage done.

Oh Gael!! - out in R2 of Umag, defeated 7-6(7-5), 4-6, 6-3 by Dutra Silva. What were these DFs in the 3rd set all about? Also had 3 BPs at 3-3 but couldn't take them. Wonder if his knees were troubling him because he bent over to hold them a few times, although he does that sometimes anyway, usually when he gets frustrated with himself.

Oh no, I hate it when he goes out so early.
