@ Aileen. Have bitten the bullet and reluctantly got a month's sub to Eurosport. The number of ads for gambling are pretty shocking.
I know they are but as I watch so little of the AO haven't bothered taking out a sub to Eurosport.

3 players lost already in federer's potential way to the title... kind of red carpet.
Nothing unusual there, the jammy so-and-so!

And so the God of fashion did smite young Dimitrov down and warn him
never to dress like that again.

I haven't watched him play but I have seen a pic of his blue polka-dot track suit .....
Apparently Dimitrov "wanted to try something different and his love for colors drove him to wear something unusual for the Happy Slam. 'I think the outfit is fun. I don’t want to be vanilla. I actually love it. I love the colors. I love experimenting as well and when (I’m) out there, I don’t really think that much about the outfit.'"

Nothing beats Stan Wawrinka’s shorts the year he won the French Open. Aren’t they framed somewhere at Roland Gaross?

The Horror! The Horror!
Trouble is, when I see Dimi in that awful shirt, I'm not thinking, "Oh what fun." I'm thinking, "You look like a d*ck and my goodness, you're now playing like a d*ck."

Yes they're in the museum there. Mind you Stan did eventually see the funny side of things, taking them into the Press Conference and laying them on the table in front of him saying that it was the shorts that won the title!

In contrast to Glitzy Grig, darling Dom looked delightful.
Matts very interesting about Medvedev, clearly admires his game considerably, only hear such drooling usually about Fed, said he has the "best cross court backhand in the game."
Interview with Danii was also very interesting, constantly thinking and evaluating what shot to play while on court and has also changed his game, apparently used to be a bit of a ball basher.
Tsit and Med future of the game, I think.

Well, we are down to virtually only doubles players from GB. Jamie always has a chance in the mixed but starts against the number one seeds. I suppose we must look to the wheelchair event for any successes. Sad.

Stan Wawrinka won in 5 sets (playing against Seppi) But Stan was sick twice during the match
Stan says he hadn't been well for a day or two - I hope he'll be ok soon.
Isner next ......

Unfortunately I think we're going to have to get used to this situation unless Andy does get back to playing singles somewhere near his old level on a regular basis.

Sad but true. Unless someone emerges from the juniors. As the Murrays say there is no real evidence of their success being turned into a legacy for future British players.

Which is a shame given all that Andy and Jamie have achieved, but unfortunately the Murrays are a rare breed as far as Britain goes. We might find another Henman at best.

Sportsmen that are focused, motivated and have ability/talent are, as you say, a very rare commodity. I still hope that we get to see Andy play, albeit perhaps not to such a good standard physically, so we can enjoy the skills that he certainly still possesses. There are many examples of players across sport demonstrating this is possible. In my sport Mo Farah is older and still top class. His event list changes to suit his physical state. In tennis RF is the similar example to follow. I think he is not as good as in the past but..... another subject.
What and how you do it in sport will change with age which is obvious. Let us just enjoy what he can do later this year. A series of exhibition matches/open training days with him could be a good plan to help seek out those from GB who might replace him at the top? He does a lot already to help our youngsters. I think he would enjoy doing more. The whole family are really special in promoting the game.

That outfit was over the top and looked pretty stupid - it looked like a pyjama set - or a onesie (can't spell). I hope he won't wear that outfit at any other tournament

Andy and Jamie have always been motivated and they still are. But it takes more than motivation to achieve great things, they have to have natural talent and a real desire to win.
Mo Farah is wonderful of course, but has he ever been injured …. RF is well documented and will always be thought of as an outstanding player, but as far as I know he's suffered few injuries in his long career.
We have to remember Andy has undergone that resurfacing operation, and he had so much pain during tournaments, I actually don't know how he played at all (especially at last year's AO).
I don't think we should expect him to play many more matches at his high level. It isn't fair to want him to play just for our own satisfaction. He's still a young man and he has the rest of his life ahead of him. I'd prefer him to have that life, pain free, rather than for me to watch him play tournaments and suffer - tennis isn't worth him suffering.
