Every time I have watched him lately he's been arguing with an umpire or messing things up at the net. Neither of which grab me.
Still, cheering for him today.
He's only 20. I really like him. He's like a young gazelle. Fab all court game and, for a very tall bloke, amazingly fast!
Please, please tennis gods don't let Isner win. His game is horrible!

Yes he's young, but the being awful at the net thing is disappointing to me. Keeping an open mind though, but at the moment he doesn't 'do it' for me. Still want him to win today though!

Sascha making short work of Isner at the mo. Has even been able to shut "Know it all" Koenig up! No mean feat!
One thing that does distinguish him from so many "next gen" is his formidable ROS. Dominator is pretty good too.
Actually it distinguishes him from many, many players, leave alone "next gen."

Zverev saves two SPs in the 2nd set tiebreak but Isner takes it 7-5.

Big hold from Zverev there. I think the first match I saw him play was vs Dimitrov in Basel 2014, where he was close to winning - some would say he should have won but choked - but inexperience let him down. Since then I've only seen full matches vs Andy in Perth and Melbourne 2016 and today's match vs Isner.
Just don't get excited by him though. Maybe he'll grow on me...

I agree BBH. He's defo one of my faves of the NextGen. Would like to see him come up to the net though. Needs to get some practice in that.

Really pleased for Zverev!
It's so good to see a young player breaking through.
#14 in the live rankings and #4 in the race now - shouldn't be too long until he's top 10.
Thiem/Zverev would be a great final.

I remembered about it not long after I'd gone to bed, so got up and did it. How's that for dedication?! lol
This is so impressive! I think you should write it in the RTR thread ! lol

This is going to be an interesting semi. Both players have things to prove - Thiem that he can back-up and big win, Djokovic that he has steadied the ship and is on an upward trajectory.

Djoko gets the double break to go to 4-0.
Finally gets on the board. 5-1
And in 26 minutes Djoko takes the set 6-1.
Not much Thiem could do because Djoko has been dominating throughout and bullying a rather tired Thiem round the court.

What a quick set that was. Can Thiem make inroads in the second?
