Well we don't know what he really thinks or what he says in private, but he does come across as somebody who can see the good in others behind the bad, which is a great attribute to have.   I had an aunt who was the same and I rarely heard her say a bad word about anyone, and if she did say anything it was always quite justified.

I'm afraid he's a tennis great, Circe, Like it or not.  This isn't about your or I's liking.   And the only spat, is around those who are too empty and bitter to accept it.

Why wouldn't they?  This is my point.  There's always some hoopla bandwagon for people to get on without any foundation whatsoever.  These guys are decent people - even Roger the alleged cheat who's won 19 Slams!  Very Happy

Its become a bit polarised. I'm sure you don't think he is perfect, and people like me don't hate him. Only really arguing on how far to accentuate different elements of the history, the balance of praise and criticism.

I'm objective - not a fawner.  If you can't appreciate the difference, not my problem.   And I'm surprised at you.  I thought you had a shade more intelligence.

I think he's pretty special.  I can't say otherwise - or I'd be lying.  Would I want it to be so in Andy's era - of course not.  However, I'm not going to berate him and get on board with the bashing and looking for stuff that I can get all bitter and twisted about.  Not my bag.  Kudos to the guy.  He deserves everything he's worked for.
