ATP/WTA Tour - The Other Players

Rafa saying he could retire this year but hopes he won't have to - https://www.express.co.uk/sport/tennis/1073222/Rafael-Nadal-Australian-Open-retirement-injury-update-Alex-de-Minaur-tennis-news

While Federer doesn't know but wants to do it "on his terms" and not through injury.  Could chose Wimbledon as the venue but isn't sure about that either - https://edition.cnn.com/2019/01/11/tennis/federer-retirement-wimbledon-tennis-spt-intl/index.html

Which is that if Andy retires there might not be any posts to read!   Appreciate the compliment though. Smile

Due to an unspecified injury apparently.   Smashed his racquet up in frustration too when he went 5-6 down in the first, something which is a bit uncharacteristic of him  Whatever, it sounds as though young Popyrin was on fire.  Plays Pouille next.

As for Stan vs Raonic, all four sets went to a tiebreak.

I know what you meant, which is why I said there might not be any posts for her to read.  I'd like to see the forum continue in some form or another though particularly as there's still Jamie plus quite a few good British players around, largely thanks to the Andy effect.  I do realise though that without him to support some members would go anyway, and, let's face it, the current membership isn't exactly huge as it is, so a revamped forum might not be viable.

Cilic wins a five set thriller against Verdasco, who will be kicking himself for having had 2 MPs in the 4th set TB which Cilic took 10-8.  Made a FH error on the first, then even worse DFd on the second.  The expression of shocked disbelief on his face was quite something!

Meanwhile Rafa notched up his 250th GS match win against de Minaur.
