Fed skipped practise today. Wonder if he'll play.

I'm sure he'll play - he won't want to lose the chance of getting to the final.

Well done Dominic, I checked the result as soon as I got up today.

I agree.  I kept off making my pick on RTR as late as possible but if he was going to withdraw  then I'd assume he'd have done it by now.

Anyway, according to Mats Wilander a few minutes ago, the temp is going to be 33C by the time this match starts, something which might work to Fed;s advantage as he likes the heat while Djoko can often struggle in it, particularly as it's very humid as well.  There's a possibility too that the Extreme Heat Policy could be brought in which would see the match played under the roof, something else which could help Fed.  Oh well, having reached a decision I'm not going back in to change anything now! especially as I'm not really all that fussed as to who wins!

The match is quite soon now so I'm sure he'd have withdrawn if he was going to.  He has hardly ever withdrawn from a match in his playing life?
If they play under the roof, yes it might help Fed.
But I'm not going to change my mind, I'm sticking with Djoko and waiting for all that love to be thrown around the place.

lol  I'm sticking with Djoko too.  In fact Elly is the only one who's picked Fed to win.

It's always best to stick with the player you first chose - it's often fatal if you change your mind.
Elly might be looking for extra points.
& anyway why do so few of us take part in RTR?  RTR is always fun and it's for all tennis lovers everywhere Smile

Just seen Muguruza take out Halep. My goodness she's back to her best! And in the other match a young American Kenin, playing without the Gauff hype, and whom I've barely heard of, took out the lovely Barty. Didn't see the match but it looked close.  Both Kenin and Muguruza play very aggressively, should be a fiery final!

Fed has strapping on his thigh. Not looking good as movement is one of the keys to his game.

Aileen: re your comment on R the R. Think you like Stan, don't you? I don't myself, tho. I can appreciate his shot making. Whereas I like looking at PB...Wink

moonglow: seems like there's not to much interest in tennis generally on here. Which I suppose is fair enough as it's called Murrays's World  Whistle

Yes but Murray plays tennis and so it's a tennis site!

Djoko won so that's all right Smile

I never used to like Stan but he's grown on me over the years.  I quite like PB too, just that when it comes to a match between them I prefer Stan to win,

Djoko won so that's all right Smile
Just as expected, although I thought Fed might have managed to take a set off him, which he very nearly did,

OMG! DD risks being wiped out at this rate. Perhaps he was wiped out by Rafa
Getting to the final of a Grand Slam is really difficult for the young talent because, on the way they'll more than likely face marathon matches, from either Rafa or Nole.
Happened to Andy at least twice, probably a lot more, v Rafa at USOpen and Ferrer at AO.
Don't mind too much who wins TBH as long as they beat Nole  yay

Zerev has just won the first set 6-3 against Dominic Thiem.  Thiem seems off his game so far today.

Well, he came back to win the next 3 6-4,7-6, 7-6.   Second slam final for Thiem.  Good luck on Sunday!

Almost found myself behind the sofa ... must be a Thiem fan!

Just listening to Dom speaking- he seems like a pretty humble guy.
