ATP/WTA Tour - The Other Players

It would be a mega-miracle if Fed managed a comeback here. Firstly, after his knee-surgery and absence over months I cannot imagine him being so fit. Secondly, with every round the opposition is supposed to be stronger and experience alone will not help.

I like them both too but prefer Berrettini to win
I want anyone who beat Andy to win.

I agree.  The days are gone when he could just walk into a Slam and win it.

I think there is something to be said for greats to go out gracefully on a high note instead of trying to recreate his or her heyday.  Fed must be reeling...

I don't think we're alone either Elly.

My co-commentator was Michael Stich and he said that it was refreshing to see a young player not being frozen in awe when playing Roger.

Absolutely was.  He just got on with it - so refreshing!

Yes, it Is surprising. The commentators are also reeling in disbelief.  “There must be something wrong.”   I agree with you Elly.  I think there has been  talk of Federer retiring at 40.

I love it when the comms assume there's something wrong when Fed doesn't win!

I've heard that too about his retirement.  He turns 40 on 8th August so it'll be interesting to see what happens, especially after this defeat.
