Davis Cup 2015

Quote

He went from US Open to clay within one week in 2013 and won just before his op.  He must have been much more pain that time.  I am sure he will play WTF. I am also sure he will play more than one tournie before the WTF.

Completely forgot about that. Well remembered.

If he's only playing two events between now and the WTF's I don't see why he'd need to skip the WTF's... it just makes no sense.

Well it does make sense to me - since he's not talking about the amount of time he's playing, but rather the change of surface.

He has in the past mentioned how his really great clay season this year came after a really useful productive training block on that surface. So I can see it would make sense to him to do the same if the Final's on clay.

Even if he just came out of the WTF after the round robin stage he would still not get the amount of time training on the different surface that he feels he needs.

But the rules rule, and I'm sure he will have to be playing in the WTF. C'est la vie.

Clay isn't a bad option at all particularly if Kyle is fit and can replicate his form at RG this year - he must have a decent chance of beating Darcis.  Feel sure Andy will play WTF but not with full commitment and I'd be surprised if he qualified out of the Group stage - this means he'll be finished Thurs or Friday, then maybe 2/3 days rest and then clay practice from about Tues onwards (on top of clay practice BEFORE WTF's also maybe)

Leon will be having to make some major decisions again.

Asking a lot of Kyle - his first DC match being played in a Final; Dom hasn't actually won a DC match yet, I think; Evo's not too keen on the clay, I think; Wardy has to get back on track.

But fingers crossed they will all be 100% and ready to step up. And that Andy and Jamie keep injury-free and in good form. cmon GB

According to Tuesday's Daily Express, the Flanders Expo Arena will be the venue and has been "rubber stamped" as they put it.  Anyone heard of it?

I've just looked at the BBC's website and the Flanders Expo Arena has been confirmed as the venue for the final.

The venue Nigel has been talking about on the news item he posted.

For the record, I have no idea how to get refunded when you're charged twice at Walmart.
