Djokovic lost lots of points because of not playing the AO. He's lost his number 1 ranking too, Jiri Vesely beat him in straight sets in Dubai, well done Vesely, Daniil Medvedev is the new number 1, congratulations Danill
It doesn't look as if Djokovic will have the vaccination, so I expect him not to be able to play in some other tournaments and I therefore expect he'll continue to lose more points and to go down the rankings even further

I don't like Medvedev so don't share your enthusiasm, although I am quite pleased to see Djokovic lose his No.1 spot. In fact the only thing in Daniil's favour is that he's spoken out against Russia's invasion of the Ukraine, as has Andrey Rublev.
I think it's time that tournaments cut out this unvaccinated player ban anyway because we can't go on running away from covid forever - something which thankfully the respective UK governments have realised and which means that Djokovic can at least play at Wimbledon but probably not the French Open
Meanwhile he won't be able to play IW or Miami, but as he didn't play in either last year he's got no ranking points to defend, so nothing to gain but equally nothing to lose.

I don't suppose Medvedev is in the least concerned whether you like him or not.
Because so many people have been vaccinated the UK Government is removing covid restrictions and so therefore Djokovic will be able to play at Wimbledon.

Which is what I said in my post only not in the same words.

He should have the vaccination himself rather than relying on the protection of others. I imagine if he became seriously ill with the virus he'd be happy to have the anti virals or go on a ventilator if need be.

As he's had covid twice then I'd think that he's built up a fair amount of natural immunity to it, although how long it might last nobody knows - but then nobody really knows yet how long protection from the vaccine lasts even with booster shots.
As for relying on the protection of others, it's up to him, just as it is with any other unvaccinated person, to take their own precautions against catching, and spreading, the virus, which most of them do unless they're particularly irresponsible.

Well no, what we know for certain about Novak is he either:
A) lied about having Covid pre the AO (circumstantial evidence very much suggests so)
OR
B) tested postive with covid and immediately did mix with people, including a journalist

According to the BBC and Der Spiegel that is, while the Serbian health authorities say the tests were valid. Anyway I can't argue the point because I don't understand how these tests work let alone what their serial numbers have to do with proving if Djokovic lied or not.

Reading this article, it would seem that he did -
https://www.scotsman.com/sport/other-sport/djokovic-admits-meeting-journalist-after-testing-positive-for-covid-3523929
- so that being the case then the tests were valid.

The latter 'admission' is dubious as he was by then already committed to the story of having has the virus. Once photos etc were exposed he had no option but to follow through. But if true, his actions were clearly reprehensible.

Djokovic and his coach Marian Vajda have mutually agreed to split: Marian Vajda might still coach another player on the tour. Djokovic and he have spent 16 successful years together. It isn't clear whether the split is because of Djokovic's continued refusal to have the Covid vaccination, but it seems likely.
Marian says Djokovic has a limited number of tournaments in which to play and Goran Ivanisevic is part of his strong team.
This top grand slam champion will be missing from the Masters at Indian Wells next week.
He's very unwise not accepting the vaccination, he's stupid.

Partly that and also they fell out over the Olympics because Vajda didn't want Djokovic to play but to save his energy in the hope of winning the US Open, and as it turned out Vajda was right because Djokovic ran out of steam in his match against Medvedev. Also Vajda now wants to take a break from tennis in order to spend more time with his family but hopes to return to coaching in the foreseeable future.

They always say they want to spend more time with their families. He more likely is looking to coach someone who has been fully vaccinated, someone who can play in all the tournaments. I believe Vajda would prefer to be with Djokovic rather than split with him.

Possibly, although this isn't the first time they've split because they split for a while back in 2017. Also in the last three years Vajda has been spending less and less time attending tournaments since Ivanisevic joined the team.

And now Djokovic is doing his best to get into the US to play Indian Wells and Miami despite still being unvaccinated!

He won't be playing in Montreal because of his continued refusal to have the covid vaccination.
