Fantasy Tennis League

It's an interesting point about Andy.  I couldn't bring myself to knock him off, but I'll have to.  Also I'm guessing his price will drop also - if he's back by the end of the year (which I'm not convinced about).

That lets me add another WTA player, but I can't decide who!  I'm ATP heavy, I'll admit, but feel bad about it.

I'm not dropping Shapo though, but he's got a tough job to stay where he is, nevermind improve...  but I like his spirit so he's staying!

Can you actually see my team on the Fantasy League?  Or is it secret?  I don't think I could see yours.

Is that unofficial Tennis Podcast league from Twitter yours ATS? I think I just joined it.

Don’t think we can see each other’s team lineup, but happy to post a screenshot on here.

Yes I just set it up - not sure if they will be cross because they are running a Kickstarter with a league on it (I think you have to donate a LOT to be in that one).  So I've marked it as unofficial!

Once everything is locked in, which I think is later today, will be interested to see people's choices.  But not until then.  Competitive?  Me?

I keep tinkering about with my player list.  Say I want to change out 3 or 4 after the AO, do I have to do one a week, and the ones I want might have gone up in price out of my reach?  (Or down into my reach, of course).

You can do three trades a week - pre-tournament, so if you do the trades on a Tuesday they’d apply to the tournament(s) the following and a maximum of 72 over the year.

Two hours to go for anyone else who wants to join us!

Ah ok.  I've changed it again, on the assumption that for wk 2 I can make at least 1 change.  If I can afford it.  I expect at least one of my big names will be knocked out (not saying who yet) so I might get some choice.  Depends on how the prices move...

Don’t think you can trade mid-slam.

Oh, so it's weekly outside a slam?  I think I'm just going to leave it and see what happens!
Like everyone else, I had to look at which of the big names I wanted.  I didn't go for Zverev, maybe I should have put him in over one I think will get knocked out.  But no wavering now.

That’s what I understood from the FAQs. But don’t take my word for it!

My concerns that Pouille is overpriced turned out to be right. Lost in the first round... but somehow he’s my best performing player on the team in terms of points, so I’m not sure how the points work! So much for the hype about Tommy Haas joining his coaching team.

Think most of the rest of my team play tomorrow.

Anyway, here’s my starting lineup, and my bench. You can see I’ve taken a risk and benched Garbine, but her history in Australia is poor. Maybe have too many WTA players in the team players section. Particularly since Lucas was hopeless! Should have had Chung in there.  doh

How interesting, I’ll post mine later.  It goes something like:
Dimitrov
Thiem
Del Porto
Zverev
Konta
Shapovalov
Kivitova
Kokkinakis

Bedene
Coric
Watson
Medvedev
Cuevas
Herbert
Tsitsipas
De Minaur

Oh and I read somewhere you get points for style of play (aces etc) so in theory it might be possible to lose but get more points. Not sure how true that is though.

atl: I've got Garcia and Muguruza on court and Kerber first sub. Unfortunately I've also got Stephens on court  Frown  Barty was too expensive at the time. Got Ocean on my bench too.

^ Sloane was too big a risk! Barty is possibly overpriced. Angie’s undefeated run at Hopman Cup and Sydney was good enough for me, though she wasn’t in my original lineup.

Oceane was originally on my bench but hasn’t done enough for me to hang onto her, so I switched her out for two cheaper guys to be on my bench.

Think Vekic is overpriced and Bencic underpriced, and I might end up trading the former before too long.

There was a lot of tinkering before the deadline! Had to let Tiafoe go though wanted to try and hang onto him, but couldn’t afford Nick.

The scoring seems very weird though, Pouille - who was hopeless - won me more points than Nick who was clinical!
