Kyrgios has reached R4 at the AO and he plays Rafa there.
I think Nick will win
2020 is Nick Kyrgios' year
Nick, among others, are giving money for every ace served during the summer season to the Australian bush fire relief fund. Last time I checked they'd already raised lots of money

Terrific match between Nick and Karen. Nick foolishly let a 2 sets lead fall away but played some "draw dropping" shots, as the extremely irritating Robbie Koenic says. It's certainly not all power with him.
Always brings his "A" game to his matches with Rafa, looking forward to it and hoping he's got some energy left.

I'd like to see Kyrgios win but (a) there is the recovery question, and (b) Rafa, understandably, doesn't take too kindly to people who make a fool of him, so

I'm sure they have. Inevitably though the bush fire crisis, assuming it still is a crisis, has now been overtaken by the Chinese corona virus in the news.

As far as I'm concerned, the bush fires are still a crisis even if they're not in the news quite as much. There's still the loss of peoples' homes and livelihoods to consider. & then there are the kangaroos and the koalas and the wildlife - the poor things.
The ATP players have donated lots of money to the relief fund, with all their aces.
Liverpool has lit up the Liver Building and other cities have done the same - in recognition of the Australian fires.
The China virus is different, you can't donate money to China, there isn't anything you can do to help the people there. It's a bit unfortunate that we can't help, but it isn't possible to help everyone everywhere.

I can't find a way to send a message to Nick, but I've subscribed to his newsletter,
I'd forgotten I'd subscribed to his newsletter and yesterday I got an email from Nick's Foundation saying about all the aces he'd hit during the Australian summer.
Well done Nick, thanks! You're a great player

I remember starting this thread for Nick and how I always liked him. From time to time I receive emails from his Foundation. Nick is very generous to his chosen charities.
Nick has never won a grandslam title, he might win one at Wimbledon this year.

Nick into the quarter finals, well done. He played a mainly calm and controlled match and won in 5 sets.

I reckon that the reason he was so well-behaved was because he didn't want any media attention.
"Nick Kyrgios to appear in court over common assault allegation"
Wimbledon quarter-finalist Nick Kyrgios is set to appear in court in Australia next month in relation to an allegation of common assault.
Police said it follows an incident in December last year which Kyrgios' barrister says was "in the context of a domestic relationship".
Kyrgios is now scheduled to appear at the Australia Capital Territory Magistrates' Court on 2 August.
----------------
Kyrgios was on site practising at SW19 on Tuesday but moved to a court out of the view of reporters and photographers and did not answer any questions.
In a statement, the Association of Tennis Professionals said: "The ATP is aware of the Australian case involving Nick Kyrgios but as legal proceedings are ongoing it would be inappropriate to comment further at this time."

^ It isn't good news for Nick. We none of us know the player, we only know him from watching him across the world's tennis courts. If it were true it would affect Nick's career in an adverse way,
He plays his quarter final match with Chris Garin today, it'll be interesting to note whether he plays in a controlled manner, similar to how he played his 4th round match,
The crowd at Wimbledon today might affect the way he plays too ...
I'm sorry to read this news though.

I didn't watch a lot of Nick's match this afternoon but from what I did see he seemed to be playing in a controlled manner despite the raucous crowd. Anyway it's very good news that he's through to the semis! Not sure yet who he's going to play yet given that Nadal can't seem to make up his mind whether he's injured or not - something which must be very difficult for Taylor Fritz to deal with. He's playing very well though.
... but Rafa takes the 5th set tiebreak 7-4.

He now has a walkover into the finals, Rafa having to withdraw because of injury.
We don't yet know who he'll play in the final, it'll either be Cameron or Djokovic of course.
Hope Cam gets there .. good luck.

^ Thanks for the article moonglow. I find it interesting that Kyrgios's ex-gf of two years, Ajla Tomljanovic, never experienced abuse from him because men who are into domestic abuse tend to do it all the time, not just on one occasion, something which raises a question about the validity of the alleged assault.
