Is Nadal gay?

TennisFAAUNNNK!
Yes I had managed to work that out, so it was a rhetorical question really.  Stirring things up for the sake of it I expect.

Why was this raked up again?!  I couldn't care less whether he's gay or not anyway.  It's his tennis that matters as far as I'm concerned.
I disagree, actually. Not because I'm anti-gay, but because it's an important aspect of an exceptional player. I'm always interested in the whole person. You can't divorce the tennis from the guy behind it - as Andy fans we ought to appreciate that better than most.

Fiverings, given the homophobia rampant in sport, I believe sexual orientation is nobody's business but their own and should remain so.
I don't see why, either,  it has any relevance whatsoever to how someone plays tennis.

Is homophobia rampant in sport? If it is, all the more reason to confront it. After all gay people are being respected in society in general, certainly in Europe.  Or perhaps you're thinking about sponsors, but money always follows talent. And homosexuality in elite tennis is nothing new, for either gender.

Because it's interesting?

Only if you find it so, which I don't.  A person's sexual orientation doesn't matter to me, it's what they're like as a person which is important.

Nadal's physiotherapist is my cousin. I can guarantee that neither of them is gay..

I doubt anyone on here would've been all that bothered even if he was, but thanks for coming on here and clearing that up! Smile

Would his sexual orientation have anything to do with his performance ?
Is his girlfriend a lesbian ?
Could Andy have a better second serve if he was gay ?

Stupid questions for a stupid thread....

I'm not sure it warrants that.

I'm just pleased his tennis is improving and hoping Andy Murray does'nt have to play him any time soon

Me asking stupid questions because I think that it's a stupid topic...

At first the notion of a gay tennis player, male or female playing on the tour actively was not even a mere thought to me.

Then there were somewhat clear examples as such like Samantha Stosur, as well as Garbine Muguruza who was heavily linked to gay rumours but she would never publicly come out while she was playing.

So with this knowledge and mindset and knowing it’s possible because a man who previously played came out afterwards, can’t remember his name off the top of my head it’s fair to say there is more.

And of course nothing anti gay here it just makes for interesting discussion...

Going back to the OP if you google that guy Titin there are tweets from Nadal posing in pictures with him with their arms around each other at dinner and poker with comments such as ‘so that’s what they call it now’ wink wink etc

It’s more interesting now because a lot of the players such as Federer Djokovic and Murray amongst others are getting married and having children. Even guys like Berdych and Tsonga.
Yet Nadal is still unmarried without children.

And from this over the many matches I’ve watched and even this year at the AO like Raonics gf Djokovics/Federers and Murray’s wives look sooooooooo emotionally invested in their games but I get nothing like that and not even close from Nadals said gf. His parents look more invested then her. It’s interesting

We will probably never find out if it’s true but I imagine the Nadal clan has an arrangement with the Spanish tabloids to keep that side of his personal life as private as possible.
And I can only imagine it’s for his image living the straight life on the outside because Spain actually has a high acceptance rate of the LGBT community and most people there whether they know or not probably don’t care.

It is interesting that the relationship eventuated the more famous Nadal got but with his personality I am Not really buying it.

Make of all that what you will
