I opened this thread after reading about The Roger Federer Foundation which he set up to help children in the more deprived areas of Africa, and in fact I seem to recall posting pics on this thread of him visiting one of the areas his Foundation helps, because I realised then that a big heart lay underneath all his on-court arrogance.
Maybe I'm just being mean spirited in thinking that bringing her to Wimbledon was great PR for him! I'd have been much more impressed if he'd taken the time to meet her in private, though I do understand that to her, the whole Wimbledon experience must have been wonderful!
Caz - Andy did the same at Wimbledon about three years ago through the Make A Wish Foundation which he also supports. In this case it was two 14 year olds from America who were cancer sufferers, and he chatted to them in private for quite a while before showing them round the place. He also paid for them to have the best seats for that day as well as their travel expenses. It was less than a couple of hours but the girls were abolutely thrilled to bits!
