Roland Garros 2012 - the other players

What a game ,she held her nerves in check and got it done.Don't think the crowd was for Serena at all.Nice to see some one else get the match.

Yes the French crowd got upset because the referee took a point from the French player because she made a noise during a point. The girl had cramp and that is why she made a noise, this of course made the crowd see red. The ref was given the bird too what an up and down match.

Crazy to think that Serena was 2 points from the match, 5-1 up in the TB. Then just fell apart.

The umpires have been very strange with the cramp.

Bogomolov Jr got a serious case of cramp or a hammy injury (not sure which) at Deuce, 4-5 down in the 5th set against Clement. Clement won the point to get his first match point. But this was on Bogomolov's serve. So obviously a massive stage in the match with Clement on the brink, but could easily be back with serve within a few points.

However the umpire refused to let Bogomolov Jr have the trainer on. Bogomolov tried to serve but couldn't even get the toss-up right. He then got a time violation. Unbelievable. Most bullshit umpiring I've seen. A time violation for being in physical pain? He then had to retire, because he couldn't take the serve and was about to have the point given to Clement anyway due to the time he was taking.

Just ridiculous. No common sense whatsoever.

MH, I've seen it somewhere else, that you can't have the trainer on for cramping. I actually think that it would be wrong to stop a game mid-point  for cramping. It would become farcical.

Got an ATP match to start today's coverage and Nole a break down in the 2nd set - comms saying he's taken his foot off the accelerator. So not just Andy this happens to eh?

Andy vs Nalbandian at Wimbledon springs to mind. I remember feeling heartbroken for Andy.

Nole getting some lucky netcords ATM but a lovely rally there for Nole to hang on to his serve again. Kavcic still has the break of serve in the 2nd set.

Nole has broken back and is practically beating his chest - poor play got you in the position in the first place so don't be gloating naughty just a tad lucky.

Federer/Ungur is a great match to watch, both have very similar OH-backhands.

Federer coasting though, as you'd expect. 6-3, 6-2, 3-3, having just fended off a number of BPs.

Both him and Djokovic have been struggling with their drop shots today though, an indicator of the wind I think. So Murray can be cut some slack I think.

I know but sometimes common sense should prevail. I can't stand people who stick to the laws by the letter when just a bit of common sense in rare situations could prevent something ridiculous, like with Bogomolov. And the time violations.. wow.

Ungur gets the 3rd set!  w00t Suspect Fed will take control of this 4th set though.

Here's an article on the cramping rules: http://tennisconnected.com/home/2010/01/18/new-cramping-rule-in-effect-for-australian-open/

Ungur saves two MPs and takes the 3rd set TB vs Federer!

Federer will no doubt take the 4th set fairly comfortably as he did the first two but certainly a little bit of a scare for him right now.

Federer just drops the 3rd set. Pretty wicked.
