Do you think the press will hound Fed about dropping the third set to Ungur as they did Andy for his second set 'dip' yesterday - I don't think so!

Ridiculous.

I think the rule's right. If they allowed full medical time out for it then it would be exploited and you can change the face of a match by forcing your opponent to wait for you and giving you time to regroup if you're under pressure.

In the meantime, Berdych is making a real quick work on LLodra.

Brian Baker looks a lot like Mark Webber (the F1 driver)

Simon leads Baker by two sets, but Baker was a break up in the 3rd. Simon broke back with him serving for the set, before Baker raced 5-1 up in the tie-break. And Simon has fought back again, to 4-5. But Baker has two serves for the set.

Baker is clearly a very talented player. Big hitter, consistent, finds the angles and stunning drop shot.

And Baker takes the 3rd set with a very fluky net cord. Big unreturned serve got him two set points, and then on the first of them he hit a bit shot that looked it might creep wide, before catching the net and landing right in the far corner of the court.

6-4, 6-1, 6-7.

I can understand the rule, but exceptional circumstances must be allowed, when it's clear the player is in a great deal of pain.

Baker's on the ball. 3-0 up in the 4th, playing some brilliant stuff.

...and pretty fit too! This must be his 9th match in 11 days - since the start of Nice qualifiers

I don't mind Baker but I find him overrated.

Forgot about that, didn't have much rest at all after reaching the final in Nice.

Baker takes the 4th set 6-1! Going the distance then.

fascinating to watch as Giles just looked so swamped in the 4th. Will be interesting to see who has the willpower to win the 5th.

I should add that Simon is having it slightly tough. First, Harrison and now, Baker.
