^ And Tsitsipas has never beaten Med, but has always taken a set off him.  Has Med upped his level, I wonder. Think

Ohh so exciting well done Stef, you're so great, you're a star Smile

He beat Dominic Thiem at the ATP World Tour Finals at the 02 in London yesterday and the score was 6/7. 6/2, 7/6 Smile  Stefanos is the youngest player to win the title for a very long time.
I'm very pleased for Stefanos he's had a very good year and he must be very proud of himself - this is a fantastic achievement Smile  cmon yeah cmon yeah yay

So, we've had longer to muse on Mr Tsitsipas now.  He's definitely a great player - I just can't decide whether his 'enigmatic' social media presence shows he is sensitive, or actually quite conceited!

Having said that, I think a lot of things he tweets that people see as mysterious or cod philosophy are actually song lyrics!

Had to look 'cod philosophy' up, but that's an interesting theory because I've often wondered the same about some of his social media pronouncements, i.e. do they show sensitivity, profound thinking or just plain arrogance?

I don't know what "cod philosophy" means but I will look it up - but not right now.
I don't know anything about his social media presence either.
I do think he's a very good player and I like following  his career, I don't really mind if he's thought of as arrogant, I should think any young player who has achieved so much, has every reason to be arrogant.
In many ways he comes over as sensitive.
I just want him to have a successful 2020 and have a happy life, it doesn't matter to me what he's like in his personal life, we never know what any of them are like off court.

I think he is a mixture of both to be honest, which again is a mixture of youth and his cultural upbringing
He did make a decision at the end of last season to dumb down his social media stuff (he still does his videoblogs) because he thought it was effecting his Tennis, probably a wise decision and one he probably needs to keep going forward.

How strange because I always thought Stefanos was quite even tempered, but I suppose stress, heat and frustration, and it was an extremely close match, can bring out the worst in anyone.  I'm glad though that his Mum didn't hesitate to give him a good talking to there and then, and I'm sure Dad had something to say as well, so maybe next time he'll think twice before he throws a hissy fit on court!

^ quite a few players have smashed/ thrown racquets and balls in frustration over the years, but it is dangerous, hopefully he will learn a lesson by it, and yeah good on his mum!

^ Well young Shapovalov learnt his lesson the hard way when he accidentally hit an umpire in the eye with a ball.

Definitely, and I know my Mum would have done the same to me regardless of my age!
