The ITF is so dumb.

http://www.itftennis.com/news/264149.aspx

The final four, neutral venue, thing was already inflicted upon Fed Cup. There was no atmosphere. France won against the US in 2003 in front of a tiny crowd in Moscow. Neutral venues don't work.

If they want to move to a neutral venue then they need to turn it into a World Cup competition and play the whole thing over two weeks every two or four years.

Not really he comes across as a man who likes to splash the cash, He playes poker as a professional and is bound to lose at times.

I also get the feeling he likes the good life too. I think he has already been declared bankrupt so there is nothing new about this. He will probably be looking for another coaching job, I feel he did a lot damage to Djokovic's team who had been with him for a long time. Don't think he was a good influence.

The more I read about the new ATP format being tested out in Milan the more farcical it becomes.  Tennis, would in effect, be turned into some kind of circus.  Also is Cinci really going to do this in favour of a new electronic system?

This quote from the director, "We want to add other new  things to have more show" says it all really. But tennis is a minority sport and in competition with other world-wide sports for advertising revenue, so they're bound to want to try new stuff.

Fair enough, but not to its detriment.

The new ATP format sounds stupid to me and tennis would be boring because of it, the matches would be shorter and a tiebreak so early in a set isn't a good idea.  Why do we have to "modernise" tennis anyway?  I'm surprised Cincy will be showcasing the new electronic lines system, what does Andy think of this? Will he be playing there?

Presumably because the ATP think the new system would have more appeal to young people and attract bigger TV audiences because it's faster and so less 'boring'.

As for Cinci, as the writer said, this is the first time he's heard of this idea, so as the tournament is only three weeks away you'd have thought they'd have announced this innovation by now, so as nothing has appeared about it on their website alongside other announcements, it probably is just a rumour.  It would be crazy to try something new out in a Masters anyway, particularly when it affects the judgement as to whether the ball is in or out.

As for Andy, he's undergoing some rehab for his hip, and according to an interview with Judy yesterday, still has to decide whether to play in the USO or not, so I'd say his appearance here is unlikely - although with him you never know!

WTA TV is going to be 'powered' by the Perform Group. Who the WTA signed a big deal with in 2014. Guess who 'powers' Tennis TV?

Tennis TV should now change their name to ATP TV, they don't show tennis, they show men's tennis.

WTA TV costs a bit less than Tennis TV who reduced the yearly subscription by about £12, but the combined cost of yearly subscriptions for both is going to be about £50 more than the old Tennis TV cost.

At least it means we may finally be able to watch women's tennis outside the slams and the Fed Cup. They've had it on the Bein Sports channel here in the States but it's patchy. Funny how whenever stuff like this happens you know it will always cost more...

Yes I agree TTV should now change it's name.  I pay it by monthly sub because it isn't always needed and suits my budget better as well, so was pleased when they reduced that by £5 to £9.99.  Not sure yet about WTA TV given how few ladies matches I watch,

From 2019, the Masters 1000 and the 500 tournaments will no longer be shown on Sky Sports.  Amazon Prime have bought the rights to them.

I don't have Sky anyway as I can't afford it, and Amazon Prime won't be available on BT TV either because Amazon have chosen not to put it on YouView, quite possibly for financial reasons.

Aileen we will have to find another source can not imagine going without the tennis.

We have sky sports recently they have been putting different sports on there own channels. It might well be that you will have to pay for each individual channel.

I suppose we will just have to wait and see. By the way hope you are keeping well.

Aileen I have just read in the paper that Amazon have bought the rights to the 1000 and 500 matches on the ATP. The also have the rights for the 02  end of year tournament. Apparently they out bid Sky by 2 million pounds.

Tennis is the only sports channel I watch Keith likes the football, rugby and darts. My son Jamie like the motor racing  so he will not be pleased.
