US Open 2013 - The other players

Quote

So Another Rafa vs Fed collision is possible, i guess all the conspiracy theorists will call it a rigged draw, with organisers obviously trying to milk the last scraps out of their rivalry.

Don't know why, it's so one sided as to not even be called a rivalry anymore.

I personally think Rafa has got a toughish draw aswell, Popsicle will be no walkover, Isner could cause trouble and even Davydenko, who i think has a huge hardcourt H2H lead over Rafa 6-1 or something? He's probably a bit over the hill now though to cause trouble.

I wondered about the rest of Rafa's draw. I was reading Sky's text service earlier and they described it as tough, but I'd focused so much on Andy I wasn't sure who else Rafa could face.

I didn't realise Davydenko had such a big lead on the hard courts against Rafa.

I wouldn't put it past Isner to shake things up a bit. I suppose it's tougher in a best of five, but encouraged by his run in Cincy and also in front of a home crowd, you never know.

I do hope Big John makes his 4R with Rafa will be a good one. Isner is the only on who can stop Rafa in that half i believe.

Not sure if i want Rafa to be stopped though as i would enjoy seeing Andy, Novak or Delpo beating him in the final. terrible of me i know :p

rafa's draw is a breeeeeeze. maybe he'll lose a set before the final. i'll be shocked if he is not there. who can stop him? davydenko is a spent force. nadal has fed's number. pospisil is too inexperienced. isner couldn't even beat him in best of 3, couldn't even get a set, in fact. his draw is easy.

Andy has an easy draw as well up until the semifinals. He could have had Fed or DelpPo in the quarters. Berditch is far preferable to either of them as the betting suggests. Fed and Delpo 11-1 with Berditch way out at 40-1.

Berdy chances of winning overall are low, but his chances of beating Andy are significantly higher than his chances of beating joker or Dal. Proof is in the H2H's.

Sadly James Ward and  Elena Baltacha didn't quite make it through to the main draws, but Dan Evans qualify for US Open since 2006 (edit there!). Brilliant!

Steven ‏@GBtennis USO: @Evo151216 is the 1st GB man to qualify @usopen for 7 yrs & the 4th in the last 10 - 2004 Boggo, 2005 @andy_murray, 2006 @joshuagoodall

Ward, the British number two, led by a break in the final set but lost 6-3 3-6 6-4 to India's Somdev Devvarman.

Baltacha served for the match against Michelle Larcher de Brito of Portugal but eventually went down 4-6 7-5 6-1.

Nadal will win.
And,  13GS.

Nadal believes previous tennis eras cannot match the excitement generated by the current stars of the sport

"Sampras v Ivanisevic match, or one between those kind of players, is not enjoyable, It's not really tennis, it is a few swings of the racquet.

For me, in the past it was just serve, serve, serve."

Tennis lover having read all 11 of your posts I would like to point out to you that this is Murraysworld, and we all support first and foremost Andy and have other players we enjoy watching. This does not seem to be the case with you, so I would advise you to go Roger's Fan Forum and to Nadals, that should keep you gainfully occupied. I would never dream of going to either of the two forums I suggested to you, and posting as you have. A little respect would be appreciated to the members of this forum.

What can you say, seeing this draw?

it says about Roger, He never go for the final. Fed has declined too much.

It is too unfair that Andy and Djoko are the same draws.

It is promised that Nadal goes for the final. And Nadal approaches Sampras's record again.

Therefore, I am writing. His arrogant selfish remark.
