USO on TV

Quote

I'm off on holiday this pm. I always seem to miss the USO. Can anyone tell me what I need to sign up to to get the tennis on my laptop? It's not Eurosport Player, is it? Cos it's not on Eurosport. Tennis TV?

If you get a proxy hiding app on your laptop you can watch it from the HD streams on the USO site directly.

What's the best way to do that Connor? As a browser plugin or standalone software?

Are there any recommended alternatives? I don't use Chrome - I use Firefox.

I don't think it matters what browser you use? spotflux lite is an addon for chrome users, but the main version should be ok. Most other free VPN's have annoying ads and stuff or have data transfer limits.

I always used Spotflux for the USO, it just changes your location to USA allowing you to bypass the USO website restrictions

does this apply if one is in the US or will it be possible to access the USO website without restrictions?  I'll be there for the last few days of USO and have discovered that it's now on ESPN, which is cable tv, so don't know whether we'll be able to access it where we're staying.  I'll only be bothering if Andy gets to SF/F as I wouldn't normally want to spend my hols watching tennis!

Ruthie, ESPN is pretty much basic cable and wherever you're staying you should almost certainly have it, so I wouldn't worry.

oh thanks tamara - that's very reassuring!  I thought that was probably the case from what I could glean on line but couldn't remember whether cable was the norm and so just wasn't sure.

I'm not sure if it's possible this year. It asks me to sign in to my provider.

I'm managing to watch Heather via streamhunter at the moment so hoping that will still work for watching Andy - but I don't like using livestreams, but I dislike Sky even more... The USO is the only tournament I have problems with, Tennis TV, BBC, ITV and Eurosport cover everything else.

I get frustrated by this every year.

I don't have Sky but I'm considering getting a Nowtv subscription for the second week (£10.99), which provides online streams for all Sky Sports channels.

Atl U.S. Open is on Eurosport but they don't have the number of red button screens as Sky do. I'm so glad we have Sky because it makes watching tennis so much easier but I know it is expensive but for us it is worth it. We're lucky I suppose.

I got caught in the Eurosport trap last year with the USO. Sky have a monopoly on Andy's matches and Eurosport don't show any of his matches live, so I paid for Eurosport Player for the USO and hardly used it. EP is great for the AO and the FO.

As you say, Sky is expensive, but I have other issues with it as well - this is probably not the place for that though!

I'm hoping that things could change next year - I think 2015 is the last year of Sky's rights to the USO. I did look into NowTV, but I just can't justify giving Sky/their owners any money!

I have Eurosport player on ipad and I watch some on bet365 but it is small screen so I was thinking of Nowtv for second week as Sky is so expensive normally but maybe for one week it is not so bad. confused
