USO on TV

I've just heard and read that Sky Sports won't be covering the US open this year.  It looks like Eurosport will have exclusive rights now.  In previous years Sky Sports have sub-licenced the rights from Eurosport.

That's excellent news for me because I can't afford Sky and have got fed up in the past of having to watch Andy's matches as well as some of the other main matches using whatever decent free livestream I could find because Eurosport only showed the ones Sky weren't covering.

^ Good news for me too. Happy with the one off monthly fee for subscribing Eurosport player for the AO and FO, so pleased to hear that they'll have proper USO coverage. It is affordable for me, and I absolutely hate Sky. Very glad not to have to resort to live streams this year.

Hi

Does anyone know if Eurosport are showing the qualifying rounds if the US open?    I see you can now buy an annual tennis pass for £19.99, but I am not sure what tournaments they show other than the Slams,  2 of which are available on terrestrial channels.   I usually just buy the monthly pass for the US and Australian Open.

wb I've just checked radio times and they're not showing it on their TV channels (showing Winston Salem towards end of the week) but I guess possible it will be on eurosport player.  Does it not say on their website?

Thanks Ruthie.  I did check the website, but it wouldn't be unusual for me to miss something.

^ I haven't found anything except the slams on Eursport player. Very disappointing. TennisTV seems to have the monopoly.

Thank goodness I've got Eurosport!

@Ruthie - No mention of any of Winston-Salem being shown though.

well they're showing it at end of week on TV Aileen so perhaps it will pop up then on eurosport player?   I had assumed that anything they show on TV appears on the player too - and with more courts covered.  The advantage of Sky is that it has a red button so you can choose which televised matches to watch, which you can't do with eurosport on tv.

I agree Eurosport is limited in that respect so I might consider taking out a month's sub to Eurosport Player in order to get a better choice of matches.  The one thing I like about Eurosport is that the often show replays, or extended highlights, of matches after play has finished for the day.
