I do suggest that there are better ways that look at how the social and racist issues are changed for the good. So far it is all hot air, protests, riots and damage to property of many that are innocents without actual proposals for a long term programme to remedy what is clearly very wrong.
If that is true then let us hear your concrete proposals, and how they differ from the analysis of BLM leaders. Without that, your comments sound like ignorant armchair dismissal.

Althusser, To do that properly would take a lot of paper and it is not tennis. I observe and listen and it is my armchair reaction. From what I have read I do think that the proposals that I have seen are a little naive. My experience observing South Africa tells me that it will take a long while yet and change will need to be very gradual. That is not ignorant analysis. I apologise if that view offends you.

From what I have read I do think that the proposals that I have....
Which proposals specifically, from whom?

There are a number of recommendations from the BLM groups (there are many) which propose funding to deprived black communities. A number, I understand, are considering realising the funds from defunding the police and other rather extreme solutions. The idea to improve communities I support but how it is done needs a little more thought. I have found that most of the dialogue appears to be at a level that I consider to be idealistic still.
Perhaps you can advise where some more considered proposals can be found?

Naomi Osaka withdrew from her match today and so Victoria Azarenka won. I like Azarenka, she's a nice player to watch and this is a good win for her right before the USO. Osaka had an injury but she's had a very stressful week which wouldn't have helped. Djokovic and Raonic soon and a strong possibility for another chance for Novak to throw all his love to non existent spectators.

Thanks for the news about Osaka. Probably wants to keep herself fit for the USO assuming she still wants to play. Very pleased for Azarenka.

I think Osaka will play the USO if possible. She does have a bit of time off before then. Yes good for Azarenka

Thanks for the reply. When you say 'idealistic dialogue' can you give an example?

This is the message from Osaka - “I’m sorry to have to withdraw today with an injury. I pulled my left hamstring yesterday in the second set tiebreak and it has not recovered overnight as I had hoped." Also she claims that she didn't think her withdrawal from the tournament would have the effect that it did. https://www.wtatennis.com/news/1792158/osaka-withdraws-from-cincy-final-azarenka-wins-title

^ It's interesting to know her thoughts. She must have been very happy that the WTA and the ATP supported her. I'm sure I read somewhere that Osaka earns more than Serena??

^ Osaka is reported to be the highest earning woman athlete, which seems a bit strange given her age (22).

But it's all about the endorsements at her level, and her combination of talent and really appealing looks is huge. And the fact that she decided to play for Japan rather than the US—which I'm sure she could have if she'd wanted to—makes her a massive star over there and I expect a lot of her endorsements are from Japanese companies. I'm sure the same has been true of Nishikori—I read an interview with him at one point in which he said he had to put on hats and dark glasses to walk around in Tokyo because otherwise he just got mobbed all the time.

^ I missed it first time yes !
Djokovic and Raonic have just started playing.
This is the final. Djokovic has a big H2H match winning lead.
If Novak wins he'd have won lots of masters titles ...... how many ?
