^ I am busy trying to improve my knowledge on BLM but I cannot find out a lot. I have been called ignorant and other things so far for my 'armchair views' so I will happily read what others say.  Perhaps I need to watch the F! Grand Prix and see what Lewis says?

Go further back than recent events. Read some Fanon, Lorde, and Baldwin for a start. Read some novels by Selvon, Braithwaite (you’ve possibly seen the film of To Sir with Love?), Gladwell (Joyce), Whitehead, Evaristo, Kay...

ATL,  Thank you.  I was a trifle concerned that currently it is mostly publicity for a worthy cause than working out ways to make things better.

In my fifty years working, at every place I have done so, I have found 'moan and blame someone else' is a common human trait. As I say to rather over the top XR folk we are all part of the problem. I want to see what ACTUALLY is being done to make changes.

This GoogleDrive spreadsheet contains information about a lot of resources, information, literature, film etc. It is worth exploring.

You might feel that the current approach is wrong, but I think you’ll find you need to read/explore the issue in more detail to gain a greater understanding of how we got to where we are.

Well personally, no. However If someone else did then I'd be happy to read it and possibly contribute -  if I had something to offer on a point.

My interventions on this thread have just been to challenge what I see to be rather reactionary dismissals of BLM from some posters.
Too bad if you can't handle the truth alt.  For a start I am not racist, but while I do not condone the police brutality which seems to be endemic in the US particularly when it comes to the black population, neither can I condone the worship of criminals regardless of their race or colour, which is exactly what the BLM movement are doing there.  Rioting, destroying property and attacking innocent white people is not the way to gain sympathy.  Also if Osaka had been a much lower ranked player she would no doubt have forfeited the tournament for her albeit rather naive protest and nor would the tournament have been suspended for a day.  What, I wonder, would have happened had these been 'normal' circumstances and spectators had already paid for tickets to watch Thursday's matches?

Once the USO starts, we'll know if Osaka has decided to play ....
She's scheduled to play an unseeded Japanese player tomorrow and I would expect her to play unless her hamstring injury is more severe than she thought.

^ Aileen,  Doi is not some sort of second rate player. She was their best player before Osaka came on the scene. If Osaka is impeded by her injury the other woman will win.

I never said she was a second-rate player because I do know that just because a player is unseeded doesn't mean that they aren't capable if playing well, but thanks for the info anyway.

^ Sorry, I interpreted your words as if she was a far lesser player!  Osaka will have to work to win a match with her so the result is not certain whether she is fit or not. I can remember her beating quite a few others.

^ Unfortunately Misaki Doi's wikipedia doesn't extend beyond 2016, so I'll take your word for it as my knowledge of current female players is extremely limited,   According to their H2H though she and Osaka have met once, in Tokyo in 2016, with Osaka winning 6-4, 6-4.  However I do realise that H2Hs don't necessarily mean anything particularly when it comes to Slams.
